took the dog to this relaxed local pub, great they had a dog bowl for water. staff super nice :)

Lovely atmosphere friendly staff great calamari chicken wings and cool shaped chips! 😋 dog friendly 🐾🐾 1 star off as just a bit pricey .. we will return 👍🍻😋

Visited on 15 March and would give this pub 4.5 stars for the food but have upgraded it to 5 because of the excellent service both to ourselves and other customers coming in. Well done.

Excellent drink and a varied menu. Quiet but it was a lunchtime. (When I say Quiet I mean the rest the pub not our table.) A good afternoon.

First night we came in it was a bit quiet and staff seemed a bit unbothered however when we came in for Sunday lunch on the 9th Jan the young fella behind the bar was very attentive, super friendly and in love with my mates dog. Really great experience, even the chef brought some roasts out and had a bit of friendly banter. Good selection of beers and a great selection of gins. Would recommend

Food was excellent. Had moules mariniere as a main excellent taste and came with chips and plenty of bread to mop up the juice. Chips are a great shape so you can use them as a spoon. Wife has gammon and really enjoyed it.Friendly bar man who doubled up as waiter.10% discount on food if from camping and caravan club. Great bonus

We spent a lovely couple of hours in the pub with our dogs. Service was good and there was a really lovely festive ambience. It had a steady amount of customers through the door too. There is a rule of only being able to order drinks at the bar and no standing, which was fine with us. We will go back.

My wife and I made this our local watering hole on a recent visit to Canterbury.Within walking distance of the town centre (and our hotel) it offers a good place to relax and wind down after a days outing exploring the historic city.Good traditional pub atmosphere.Comfortable leather seats.Helpful, friendly staff.Good selection of beers on tap and has a gin theme with a many blends to choose from.Generous quantities, basic, wholesome pub grub at reasonable prices.No parking.

Very old pub, and you can tell why. Great staff, food and drinks (esp Gin) Epic burger I had it twice. This childrens food was fantastic, and the staff were amazing.

Recommended when in Canterbury, slightly off the beaten tourist trail but worth the stroll. Lovely decor, staff welcoming and attentive. Great gin menu.
