EDIT: Updated my review to 3 stars as I was contacted by the staff after leaving feedback of my previous visit, and they kindly gave me a gift card which I really appreciated. Came for another visit to use it, had the spicy miso mackerel which was pretty good. I still feel wagamama is a bit pricey for what it is and the flavours are quite bland, but I think it's a solid place for a friend group gathering. Staff is very friendly!Original review below:Wagamama is usually pretty good, but this time I had the shirodashi pork belly ramen, and was disappointed. Broth barely had any flavour, some of the noodles had stuck together in a clump, and the pork belly was alright, but I seemed to have gotten an edge piece that was very dry and rock hard. Also, the tea-stained eggs have no flavour at all - they don't seem to have really been marinated in anything, they're just soft boiled eggs dyed brown. The white chocolate and ginger cheesecake is pretty good, but nothing special. I did enjoy the ginger no-jito mocktail though, that had a very nice kick to it!All in all, the atmosphere is nice for a friend group gathering, but for a solo diner it was a bit too busy and cafeteria-like. Would recommend Happy Samurai or Tamago over wagamama any day.

Had such a great meal at the canterbury wagamama today. The service was amazing, his name was Harry dean . He had great knowledge of the menu, and was really nice to talk to. Will certainly come back in the next week or so as they have a new menu coming . Thanks Harry .

Always an amazing time at this Wagamama branch, very kid friendly and so many different options, I chose the vegan chicken ramen and vegan battered squid 😍

I wouldn’t line up for food certainly not in Canterbury. (There are so many great places to choose from here.) Wagamama fans line up on weekend evenings for the fresh and tasty Asian for modern sensibilities ( variety of creative vegan options- thank you 🙏🏽!) In a city full of options I’d opt for a quiet afternoon lunch here during the week when I can walk in, sit down and get served like normal- cuz it’s quality and value here is good; but normal (not blow mind) good.

Lovely place, one of my faves😍 Catered to all of our needs (allergies, gluten free, vegan) and were more than happy to help us with candles and a dessert to celebrate.

We were served by Harry Dean who was absolutely amazing. He was so pleasant and helpful and made the experience worth it. We saw him running around doing everything but he was still fab! Very chatty and funny and the food was super good

Best for gluten free, dairy free, nut free, etc.they got separate menus. They now got variety of deserts for the above as well, really enjoyed it after a long time a dairy free desert. Great customer service than any other restaurant, value customer's well being to the up most than anywhere else I have been.my go to restaurant.
