The pork belly was delicious and the coconut pannacotta was a great way to finish off an excellent meal. The waiter was welcoming, funny, and hospitable. One of the best meals and dining experiences I have had!

I was treated by my lovely girls to Mother’s Day Sunday lunch, I had the smoked eel to start, which was to die for, followed by steamed mullet, another dish of total deliciousness. I don’t normally have a dessert, but the pistachio cake with rhubarb swayed me and I was not disappointed, Devine!! We dined in the conservatory, and although an outside space with sides, it was adequately heated, and we were able to enjoy the view of the river, entertained by the punt boats. I would thoroughly recommend, the food was excellent, service very good with knowledgeable staff and we all had a very nice day

The mushroom starter and the apple pie dessert were great. But the rest of the food was surprisingly below average, especially for somewhere which is well above average price. The pork belly was soggy, overcooked and a deep grey colour. I think it might have been reheated in a microwave. The fish didn't smell great and had a strange bitter aftertaste. The terrine starter was pretty rough too. Staff were friendly, though note that you will pay a 'forced' service charge even for tables of 2. You can of course ask to have your bill redone without it, but most people won't do that of course. The wine was excellent.

tl;dr: superb wine list, cheap corkage, good food, excellent food serviceWent twice in the span of two weeks. The first meal was a light dinner of crispy pork belly paired with a bottle of sweet vouvray. The food was cooked well, but it is teetering on the edge of being showy, and hence losing focus--simple European food should be cooked simply.I spotted a Selosse on the wine list and immediately made a reservation for the following week. This was enjoyed with a starter of smoked eel, which was brilliant, along with a main of guinea fowl--which was slighly more disappointing than the pork belly. The menu was a bit restrictive: these were the two things that I thought might pair alright with the wine--a Burgundian style of Champagne. With such a superb wine list, I would expect the glasses to match it in quality. This was in my opinion the biggest let down. The Cab glasses are excellent, but there is nothing for Pinot, Chardonnay, or indeed Champagne (they did have flutes--but those should be banned globally!).I would suggest the team invest more effort in wine--these guys really have the best cellar (for the price!) in Oxford and it holds so much more potential. Additionally, I would also like to see some more wine-friendly dishes: in particular, a liver dish is a must!

We had a family dinner here and found this restaurant very enjoyable. The location by the river, the top class service, the interesting menu, and simply great food. Apart from the weather, i don't know what more one could wish for.We are hoping to come back next time we are in Oxford.Note that the location is some way from the centre of Oxford, about 25-30 minutes walk if you are feeling energetic.

A great place to celebrate a special occasion. Staff are all very good and helpful. Food is excellent and the prices reasonable. Lovely setting. Could do with more disabled parking.

Beautiful venue. Great food and comes with the benefit that you can pick up a punt from here if it takes your fancy. The staff are also pleasant and helpful. Only downside is that it is quite expensive, even by Oxford standards.

We hired the outdoor venue for up to 15 people for our wedding reception. We were absolutely blown away by the set up of the tables and chairs, the lights, outdoor heaters and candles really helped to add the finishing touches to a beautifully presented dining area.I was particularly impressed with the waitress who was looking after us for the evening, Alice, she was polite, friendly and had a beautiful smile on her face the entire time she working. We only had good things to say about her, she was an absolute delight.Overall, we all had the most wonderful night and we will definitely be back.
