The Chequers Inn in Cherwell

A really nice pub. Big garden with seating and Aunt Sally can be played too! I think it's an 'Oxford thing' 😆.

We came here for a meal at the start of a stag do weekend - the food was absolutely lovely, but the main thing is that the staff were absolutely lovely people, a real joy to speak to, and the locals were also a great bunch. We wound up staying for the bingo night and all had an absolute riot, and managed to win a few Bob to put towards the Indian! I can't imagine we'll be in the area again any time soon, but if I ever do wind up back in Headington we will absolutely be visiting again. Thank you for such an enjoyable start to the weekend!

A nice friendly pub more for the younger generation no real ale to be fair he did try to sell it but his customers were mostly lager drinkers.

Pub closed restaurant was the only table in and no take aways whilst we was eating. But they where clearing the table before we had finished eating. Very poor compared to last time I visited

Lively pub lots of dancing cheap drinks good atmosphere

Great pub with some amazing regulars.The landlord is a footballing legend who has helped loads with local clubs.Great options regarding Ale's, beers, largers etc...The back garden is amazing and they will be showing the euros inside and outside of the pub.

Decent crowd and the barman asked us to use hand sanitizer upon entry. Good range of lagers. And football is usually on.

A good bar for locals very good for sports fans great rear pub garden. Car parking minimal, do lose custom to pubs close by because of that. But if you can get a car park good.

Lovely cosy pub. Staff freindly and helpful. Popped in for a beer after work.. Was tired, wet and grumpy. Left feeling better and pleased I found a real gem of a place. Sells curry too.

Always feel welcome with a good selection of beers and wines a lovely enclosed garden with a new non smoking decking​ area where you can have your meal from the fabulous Aziz Indian restaurant which serves an amazing​ menu of authentic cuisine, which I must say has always been spot on.A lovely place for a drink with friends, family or a fantastic meal.
