The Horse and Groom in Cherwell

Had a fantastic Thai takeaway for two. Picked it up between 5:30 and 6pm, and had an early bird discount. They also deliver! Have also had a sit down meal here and the dishes are really innovative and unique.

Breakfast is nice, bed is comfortable. Lovely staff.

Attractive pub with staff who helped to accommodate our large walking group for drinks. Would recommend and visit again.

I met a friend here for a catch up and we ate in the restaurant and stayed in the twin room. The room was super clean, well-equipped and perfect for its purpose. Dinner was good and breakfast really was as great as the reviews. All the staff were extremely friendly for our entire stay. As we were leaving I realised I had lost a piece of jewellery of high sentimental value which we (myself and the staff) hunted high and low for to no avail. Incredibly 3 weeks later I had a call to say it had been found! They kindly posted it and it is now back with me - a real testament to staying in independent properties with great staff who actually go out of their way to give amazing service to customers they clearly value. It's a perfect halfway point for us so we'll definitely be back!

Room and facilities well thought out - there's been much care and attention put into manging the quirks of an old bulding! Staff attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Really well priced food and great service. Loved the fried chicken, finished off with a delicious brownie. Friendly welcoming staff throughout the whole experience!
