Nice ambience and good food. Perfect combination to spend some quality with friends.

Loved the food here! The chicken wings were spot on 😋

Food was delicious and waitstaff were lovely. Long Island iced teas were a wee bit weak. And we were left quite a long time between courses. Were a bit rushed out when they decided to close early for lack of customers.

Visited The old auctioneer on a Saturday early evening for a birthday celebration. They easily catered for a table of 17 including children and 1 baby, food orders were handed to staff a week before we attended. I can not fault the staff, food or drinks as all, I had a lovely blueberry mojito cocktail, 2 members of our party had strawberry fields mocktails and they were all stunning. Food came out promptly and was so good, we had one mistake on one of our orders due to an allergy but that was quickly rectified, staff were attentive, helpful and managed our large table well, and to top it off we had a complementary bottle of Prosecco. We will definitely be going back there for dinner and drinks. Most of our party live in London but were up visiting family for the weekend celebrations. Unfortunately, the food was so good we forgot to take pictures, but you won't be disappointed if you visit here.

Had a lovely meal and fabulous cocktail... Sat outside and it was Pleasant with the little table heater and Rodger who served us was great! Highly recommended...

This is my go to pub for food in Banbury. Their chicken wings are to die for and their desserts are very well portioned and always tasty. The price is reasonable (although I'm pretty sure a pint of coke is £3 which I think is a bit high but that a very minor annoyance).Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Always recommend that you pre-book because it can get quite busy. The place has a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere so would definitely recommend a visit

Lovely Food. A lot has changed in the Auctioneer and only for the better. The food is amazing and quick served. The drinks sometimes take a while but the cocktails are excellent. Lovely atmosphere and great service.

I have eaten at The Old Auctioneer many times and the food is consistently excellent. Menu options are varied and portion sizes neither too much nor too little. It's more expensive than average for a pub but you get what you pay for. You need to book in advance as it's usually full.

We used to love the old auctioneer, decided to treat us to a takeaway VERY DISAPPOINTED our "grande nachos" there was a thin layer of cheese and pulled pork over the top layer of crisps but nothing throughout! The buffalo wings have got ridiculously tiny, the calzone was burnt and had little in, not worth the price they charge. To say we were disappointed is an understatement

Last minute choice and lucky to get a table! - We were meeting a friend in Banbury and this looked like a nice place with a good menu. It was sunny and very busy. I was lucky to ask at the main desk and be able to get a table outside as they were nearly all reserved. Service was excellent. Food was superb. I shared a pizza with my partner which was so delicious. My signature toblerone cheesecake melted in your mouth. One of my best cheesecakes and I love them! Sarah liked her sticky toffee pudding. We didn't have cocktails but saw many amazing ones around us. We would definitely eat here again!
