The Red Lion in Cherwell

Another great quiz evening tonight in this top local pub - very handy for an ale and catch up with friends.

Great pub, nice people, delicious food. It's a short walk for us and we're pleased to have such a nice local bar to go to and play pool

Friendly staff, good beer, a fun evening with karaoke. There are also a pool table, dartboard, and two large televisions that were on earlier in the evening to show a major football game. I didn't try the food so I cannot comment on that. The decor is a little tired but otherwise it's a good basic local pub.

I play for the Red Lion pool team and always really enjoy myself here. Staff are friendly and there's a sense of community among the visitors. There's a decent selection of drinks, along with fireplace and big garden with a view of fields.

I was made welcome as soon as I entered this pub. Beer was good! Had a really nice burger with coleslaw, salad, and chips. Relaxing family atmosphere, and dog friendly. Highly recommended 👌

Ah, what a great place! I ate a meal and had a pint in the back garden at the Red Lion today after work. I could see acres of rolling fields from where I sat, and could hear all sorts of birds. The service was great, and the food was tasty. I was impressed that the proprietor got both of the items I ordered -- a goat-cheese-mushroom starter and a plate of chips -- cooked so well. Many pubs can only handle either the high cuisine or the junk-food, but here I had both perfect salad and nicely browned chips. The Red Lion is just around the corner from the stop for the S3 bus, so, while you can't hear the buses while you eat, you can get on the bus very easily once you've finished. All that, and they have a creamy bitter on tap. I don't really know what could be improved.
