Very nice and cosy place, on arrival we were greeted by the general manager who was very friendly and warm. The food was excellent, thank you to kitchen team(George, Macio, and Joe) and to the waitress who served us(Ellie ) because she was very attentive and courteous. Highly recommended ❣

Had lunch here , was looking forward to it having seen the reviews. Staff were helpful and friendly, the venue is spacious and welcoming. Unfortunately the food wasn't up to standard, the chicken sandwich was mediocre, the orchard tart was undercooked, the pastry was raw.

Only ended here by accident - the road to Woodstock was blocked, so we turned round and came into the Turnpike. Originally just going to have a drink and snack, but the menu looked good, so decided on lunch "proper"! Lovely food, surroundings and staff, but we felt that very few staff were struggling to keep up with orders. We had a very relaxed lunch and were in no hurry, so not a problem to us.

Went on a Thursday lunchtime, food lovely, but took ages for the desserts to arrive. One of our party ( who luckily hadn't ordered a dessert) had to leave in the end as they had an appointment they would have been late for. We did not not stay for coffees!

Caring service, fast service, superb food!!! We came Monday also and was great also! We're in town from USA staying just up the road walking distance. Glad your close!!! We drink a lot also!!! 🤪

The worse Sunday roast we ever had.The turkey and vegetables were so dry the knife could not cut through them. When asked to change it, the same quality food arrived.Toilets were filthy and no soap. This was our first and last visit I am afraid.

The food was very bad, there was little on the actual plates and it was only for decoration, show and to look nice. The vegetables and salad weren't fresh (they were black), the meat was extremely hard (almost like rocks), there was little gravy with the meals (once again for show) and the desserts were overprices foe their size (a creme brulee smaller than the size of an average 11 year old's palm was £5.75).

What a lovely place to stop for lunch. Staff were brilliant, food well cooked and very tasty. Reasonable prices. Check it out, worth a visit.

Nice little country pub.Had a meal here as we were working local to the area.We both ordered steak very tough and chewy even though it was cooked medium rare!

Nice Food, friendly staff and a cosey environment. Wood fires burning away give it a real country feel even though you're seconds from a busy A road. Large beer garden onsite too with a decent sized car park to the side of the pub which is straight off the roundabout.Happened upon this pub as I was passing through Oxford. Would recommend to anyone! This place is also dog friendly 👍🏼
