Looks fantastic, arrived early, it was our anniversary, seated quickly, service was top notch, unfortunately when it came to our main meal my food tasted of fish, I'd ordered the burger 🍔. The manager came over after spotting my plate, I quietly said what this issue was. We were then rushed out the door as if we had the plague, my wife hadn't even finished her meal when the bill was brought over and there was no offer of dessert. Will NOT be going back. I have emailed them about this and had no response whatsoever

Not far off a Michelin star in my view.Excellent Bernaise sauce with pan fried Sea Bream. A serious chef at work here.Great service. Beautiful setting.Came down from Lincolnshire for the day so googled this place and lucked out.Met Harry Dixon who runs this and two others: Henley - Three Tuns and Stratford - The Townhouse. Same head chef for those so expect they should be as good.

We have never been to the white horse but we heard it was under new ownership. We went with some friends for Sunday lunch and had an amazing meal (and espresso martini) 😉 highly recommend and its so close to banbury. There is also a really good park for the kids so everyone is happy!!! Sara.

We have been keen to visit this pub for a long time but it was always fully booked, we managed however to book online for a Sunday lunch, we found out the pub has just been taken over my new owners this weekend. We ordered two roast beef meals at £17 each. Both were stone cold when they arrived. We have never had to send something back for being that cold before... They replaced them, even the second time elements like the cauliflower cheese was still cold and a very cold Yorkshire pudding ( I know a Yorkshire will loose it's heat but this was fridge cold). The potatoes at least were hot the next time. Overall though the taste was disappointing, potatoes were not crispy, no taste of honey glazed on the carrots and one of mine was burnt black. Although the waitress apologised and told us she had informed management, when they came over there was no apology or mention of it from them. Sorry to say we will not be back and do not recommend this pub.

The food was lovely. To start we had the beer and cheddar soup and the mussels cooked in beer. This was served with some bread and home churned butter with salt and herbs from their garden. It was a fantastic start as all three items were perfect. For our mains, we had the lamb 'pie' with savoy cabbage, dauphinoise potatoes, lamb gravy and mint sauce and the beef with chips and bone marrow. Everything was very good. If there was one thing I would have changed for myself, it would be a little less salt in the lamb gravy and I think I would have preferred the pie to be a little less packed with meat. The crust of the pie was outstanding and the mint sauce was better than any mint sauce I've had. The beef was excellent, cooked medium rare at the Chef's choice and while my partner felt the bone marrow was too rich for him, I managed to polish off what he couldn't eat. All in all, it was a great meal. Would recommend.
