Absolutely delicious pub pie! Exactly the fix to our craving we needed. Such a cute outdoor area too! We enjoyed our drinks laying out on the grass near our bench before and after our meal was had.

The back garden is very very nice, quiet and relaxing. My halloumi salad was excellent. The coffee was average. The ice cream had water crystals in it all over. The service was a bit on the slow side and tables were not properly cleaned.

We chose to eat here at the pub on our last night in the area and we really made the right choice! The atmosphere had an old-world, unassuming feel to it. The building is clearly historic and full of character. It sits in a gorgeous countryside. We went on a Tuesday night and didn't need a reservation, but definitely look into it for busier nights. It's worth it. My wife got the Lamb Chops special and said it was the best she had ever had. I got the Ham, Eggs, and Chips and love it as well. We also had an amazing Hazelnut-Chocolate Bricoche and Custard dessert. Definitely give this place a try. The chef was fantastic and this is a hidden gem in the country.

The cricketers at Function was the best pub meal with the best service I have experienced in a long while. We were 26 walkers and the food was all amazing. Efficient ordering at the bar and attentive service throughout. It was only me second meal out as I have not wanted to be in a crowded environment. They accommodated all of us on the deck with no problems. I definitely recommend this great place

Lovely 16th century Inn that changed it's name in 1867. Very nice ale beers and excellent food menu. Plenty of indoor seating and covered outdoor decking areas. Very large and well maintained garden. Friendly and attentive staff.

Brilliant pub with super service. Lunch was very good with local beers to wash it down. Varied menu to cover all tastes. Lovely gardens for summer dinning.

Have been going here for many years ! Great family pub in the country side. Lovely garden & great pub food. Staff always nice & friendly. We even stop there for breakfast on the way to the Goodwood events ! But check first !! Keep up the good work guys 👍Martin & Suzie.

We have just arrived home after a two night stay here and I will start with my one and ONLY criticism of The Cricketers - the bar /restaurant area can get a little quiet and I feel that some soft background music would be ideal - but that’s my personal preference.Other than that, Ruth, Martin and the team are FANTASTIC!The food: It was impeccable! Staying in a pub, we were expecting your typical ’pub grub’ however, breakfast, lunch and dinner was brilliant - all executed to a very high standard! Hats off to the chef (Martin!), we couldn’t have asked for better! The service: Ruth and the team could not have provided a better service. We did not want for anything, everyone was so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them! Everyone was also so very friendly! The accommodation: We stayed in The Hop Room, and it was stunning, it was clean and smelled so fresh. We had everything we needed…..fresh milk (and a mini fridge) in a room, well I do appreciate the little things in life and this was certainly one of them. Thanks for an amazing weekend away guys! We will definitely be back soon!

A serious old world vibe with a real hearth, low intimate ceilings, and cozy seating. The staff were professional yet casual, and there were a wide variety of drinks available. We went on a not-so-busy evening, but I recommend reserving a table anyways. The food was absolutely fantastic--traditional British fare. I had the steak, ale, and mushroom pie and it was every bit of the warm, hearty meal I expected it to be. The game hot pot was also delicious. All of the food had generous servings. I highly recommend ordering a custard to go with the sticky toffee pudding, it is absolutely amazing this way. For a first-time-in-a-real-British-pub experience, I could not have asked for better.

Lovely pub after a walk. Rustic but plenty of space. Our group was in the side room, perfect for our needs. Good Sunday lunch cooking, beef, venison, and duck all enjoyed. Good vegetables too. Limited choice for puddings but tasty. Excellent value.
