It is almost impossible to find authentic Thai food in Surrey. We gave up trying a few years ago & as we spend a lot of time in Thailand, we decided we would only eat Thai cuisine in Thailand. However, we went against our unwritten rule, having passed the Nava many times when in Ashstead. We'd always resisted the temptation, until finally relenting because of the rave Google reviews & being unable to visit Thailand due to Lockdown.We made a huge & very expensive mistake.One thing about Thai food is it is intricate in the balance of the tastes. The food here is as intricate as a hammer falling on a fine Swiss watch.. Basically all the important fine ingredients are missing, the food is like a peculiar fusion of Chinese & Thai. The Tom Kha soup was a watery broth with a few prawns thrown in. If it had come from a tin that you'd paid a £1 for, you'd be shocked. This cost a whopping £7,45.You can always tell whether it'll taste any good by the type of mushrooms put in it. Yep, these were bog standard and old mushrooms. I wont bother going into the details of the other dishes, but they were of a similar low standard. My wife & I ate in silence, we both knew what the other was thinking.In closing, if you expect to get food that is remotely like Thai home cooking, resturant or even street food at the Nava, you will be sorely disappointed.

Great authentic Thai food, this is the best Thai we have had outside of Thailand green and red curry's are amazing and mixed starter we recently tried is also very good.

Had a stunning meal. Resturant quality food to be eaten at home, could not fault a dish. My new favourite takeaway. Speedy delivery also.

Great food, having been to Thailand many times I can say that the food here is authentic - using ingredients from Thailand too which really make it! This is the only place I'd go to for Thai and I've tried many in the area. Good service, yummy food, what's not to like? 😁

No idea where all these raving reviews have come from or what food they got served cos the food i was delivered was ok at best.. Crispy chilli squid was nice and satay. However starters especially satay chicken came with the tiniest pot of sauce which is the main element of the dish i would say. Also was a Bit disappointed that only 3 Cashew nuts in the crispy chicken and cashew nut dish and duck was very soggy and looked grey in the duck dish and sauce was so watery and bland! The spicy rice was so Spicy i couldn't eat it and had to chuck it away as all i could taste was the heat from the chilli and i like spicy food!

Friendly service and all cooked fresh - if you’re collecting you can even sit and watch them cook. Food was tasty and filling, not fatty or greasy. Great to have a local Thai in Ashtead!
