Number One Chinese Restaurant in Chichester

Would not recommend. Portions are extremely small. Prawn balls were burnt and inedible - the batter was rock hard and the prawn brown from being so over cooked - looked like they were cooked a week before and then recooked again before serving. Pork dish had no pork in and duck was soggy.

We have been using Number One since it opened in the late 80’s and it continues to be our favourite Chinese restaurant and takeaway.This small family run business has worked hard through the pandemic to adapt, and has transformed itself to take away only (where many others may just have given up and closed) - which the Witterings are very thankful for, as the food is always fantastic.I cannot recommend this highly enough for its friendly, efficient service - and of course delicious authentic food!

Have been using this lovely little take away for almost 8 years now. Can’t fault them in any way. Always polite and friendly ! And the food is delicious always hot and tasty. Delivery is always quick and on time .Our go to Chinese would highly recommend.

THE BEST Chinese takeaway, not just locally but that I’ve ever had. You have to try the Crackling Pork and the Prawn Toast, I promise you won’t have had Prawn Toast like it before 🤩 😋Heidi is always so friendly too, if you’re local or visiting the Witterings, do not miss out!

I called to order some Chinese food and was told I was rude. I apologised but the person at this establishment hang up on me. I did not intend to insult anyone. And I apologised. I do not understand the world we live in now. Can we not chat anymore ? Can we not order Chinese without being made to feel like we are a monster for being friendly. I give up.
