Purchases Bar and Restaurant in Chichester

I just want to say thank you to the staff and one gentleman in particular (I wish I took your name) for the way you managed our visit yesterday. You made sure our afternoon wasn’t ruined by a group of rude and disrespectful men.

Booked a babysitter and reserved a table for what was supposed to be a fancy night out. My main (steak) was totally inedible. It was a cheap cut full of tendons that would have been better served as dog food. Won’t be going back.

Enjoyed a fabulous birthday luncheon again at Purchases this year! Love the food, service and ambience there so much, hopefully shall continue this tradition in the future.Cannot recommend the stylish surroundings in the restaurant itself or stunning terrace and conservatory.

Great late Sunday lunch, wonderful food, and wines, with perfectly attentive staff. Sat outside under cover with the sun shining, was a lovely few hours with great friends.

Our experience here exceeded expectations. The whole venue has a great atmosphere, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The good service itself was incredibly fast and all of the dishes were incredible. The beef wellington was perfectly cooked and tasted great, especially with the potato gratin. I would happily come back.

This was our first visit to Purchases and only stayed for a drink as we arrived too late for lunch. We will definitely return very soon as the place was very relaxing and comfortable. We sat al fresco and it looked better than the photos on the website. I am Italian and it felt like being in one of those smart bars in Italy, sipping a drink and take it the surroundings. There are several different areas to eat or simply relax and have a drink whilst being able to talk in a space which is intimate but also vibrant at the same time. The staff was impeccable, professional and extremely polite. We highly recommend Purchases and cannot wait to come back. We'll be sharing how impressed we were with friends and colleagues, in fact we already have! Josie

What a place ! Had a wonderful lunch (long one) with my siblings and friend. There was a lunchtime set menu which was amazing value. The food was fantastic and the ambience was lovely.

A really good and consistent restaurant, by far the best in Chichester. Excellent food, beautifully presented and precisely cooked, nice staff and charming ambience. Good wine list too, sensibly priced. The set menus and Sunday lunch are outstanding value for money. The chocolate brownie ball with salted caramel sauce looks amazing and is to die for!

Such a lovely evening in Purchases; friendly staff, both at the bar and table, fantastic food - we ate every last scrap, it was absolutely delicious, and lovely cocktails to finish, no hurry, no pushing us to buy more or move on. We were celebrating a family birthday and it was great to get dressed up, be treated so beautifully and enjoy a leisurely evening in such nice surroundings. Can’t recommend highly enough - well done to all the staff - great place, great job.

We had lunch at Purchases on 31 December 2021.The service was excellent, the food was on my opinion the best in Chichester and the cost was reasonable.The setting was superb with the screens separating the tables. Decor is very nice and clean.All in all, highly recommended.Thank you for making our lunch very pleasant. 👏👏👏
