Visited today for lunch and was very happy to find a lovely carvery option available. Strange in the heat maybe, but too many salads recently. We all found the carvery meats and vegetables all beautifully fresh and cooked well. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful.Definitely will call in again when we next visit our friends neat here.

Just had an evening meal here and I have to say is was fantastic. My husband had the fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection. I had home made pie, new potatoes and veg and the pie was delicious. Absolutely full of meat and the meat was tender and just melted in your mouth. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this place if you want good quality pub food. Will definitely be back

Beautifully decorated resturant. The service was amazing. The waitress could not help us enough. And took the time to assist my friend who has alot of food intolerance and advised her what was ok for her and what to avoid on the menu. The food was so amazing. The veg was fresh, and tasty and the meat was moist and perfectly cooked! I also want to mention chef Jim. It did not go unnoticed how attentive and helpful he was to all the diners. Going as far as to assist an elder lady from her table to the carvery counter, dished up her food and then helped her back to her table with her plate. He took time to check on each and every table and did not rush. He made us feel truly welcome, and we really appreciated the extra care he and our lovely waitress (who's name I sadly did not catch) toom to help us.Good job guys! I recommend the Anchor to anyone in the area to try it if you haven't already!

There is always a warm welcome at The Anchor. It is our absolute favourite place to eat. The food is ALWAYS gorgeous and the hosts treat us like family members. We would recommend this pub restaurant to anybody AND they welcome dogs, which is ideal for us because we have 3! They supply water and treats for the pets. We eat here whenever we are in the area and look forward to it.

The Carvery was delicious and generous yet reasonably priced. Dogs welcomed and made to feel very much at home. Staff were absolutely lovely, Chef even popped out to each table to ensure everyone was happy with the food. 10/10. We will be back next time we are in Chichester! Thanks all at The Anchor ⚓

We were staying locally and walked to the pub on a Friday evening. We had a warm welcome, could bring our dog with us too, and the food was delicious. I had the fish pie which was luxurious and clearly homemade as opposed to a frozen one, and my friends had burgers, which they thoroughly enjoyed too. A good range of drinks, and lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

Just been here to meet up with old friends, we had a warm welcome and a great seat. We all ordered different meals, all were plentiful, hot and served together.I will be definitely using the Anchor more often. Delightful pub

Please do better! We were really looking forward to trying the place after the refurbishment etc but didn't arrive at the right time for the carvery. We ordered a sandwich for our son (I wish I'd taken a photo of the whole thing) thinking that at nearly 7 quid it would at least be a proper pub sandwich on doorstep bread. It was served on cheap sliced bread, and even though we comprised 50% of the customers on site at the time, staff managed to forget: condiments (no salt, pepper, ketchup etc and no advice on where those might be if they weren't delivered to table) no napkins, and bizarrely the sandwich was served with a small dressed salad and yet no cutlery? I can understand a sandwich not being served with cutlery, but if you include a salad with dressing, are you suggesting that we eat that with our hands and no napkins?Really disappointed at spending 25 quid on 3 drinks and a sandwich and not even being offered a serviette.

Really lovely make over. Hope it's a roaring success. We found the food mediocre and carvery cold. The pie I had was ok.Updated review as have been twice more and food is very hit and miss. Carvery has been cold each time and other food is dried up. Won't go again.
