Hi, My daughter and I wanted to have lunch, somewhere different to all of the local places we have been going to fairly regularly over recent years. At first I was dubious, but I shouldn't have been, as the menu looked interesting and so it proved to be. A warm country style decor and the welcoming staff was so nice. It was a Saturday and they were not busy at 1.30 so it was quiet, apart from the occasional yap of a friendly dog. Our lunch was, well, a lovely surprise to see a beautifully presented Sea Bass for my self, and my daughter, a vegan, had the best Vg vegy tart she has ever tasted. Our meals were excellent, tasty any most enjoyable, and for what we had, not expensive ! Thank you Barleycorn ! We will be back, soon ...

We are touring the South Coast and wanted some real food. Wow Barlycorn Tavern didn't disappoint, I had Lamb Shank with mash and veg and husband belly pork, both dishes were delicious with lots of gravy. At long last an establishment which isn't stingy with the gravy!!!! Pudding was homemade fruit crumble with custard, yum. Thankyou Barleycorn for feeding us soooooo well. We will definitely return Xxxxxx

We had a wonderful cavery on Sunday the food was plentiful and delicious with a fantastic choice, all of it was amazing meats & a huge variety of vegetable sides and the Yorkshire puddings were spectacular!!. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. All the staff were friendly, patient and helpful, from being shown our table, ordering drinks and Chef serving us our cavery, highly recommended, we will definitely be back!

Truly delicious and presented superbly. The staff are lovely, efficient, smiley, helpful, friendly and certainly made us feel right at home and welcome. The food was delicious, very salty, which suited me, but not the others.Highly recommend dining here, just ask chef to hold the salt.

We went here as for a family meal after my mother-in-law's funeral. The table numbers changed from 10 to 18 at short notice, they fully accommodated us and although one or two mistakes between ordering and serving everything was sorted out and rectified straight away.Would throughly recommend.

Superb sirloin steak and sweet potato fries. My scampi was a bit overcooked as crispy rather than soft and juicy and tartare could be better. But lovely low beam pub. The welcome on the bar, the table service was excellent. Will definitely be back.Nice to be made so welcome 😊😊

Good, friendly people running this pub and I'm sure it's great for just a few pints. However we went in for a meal on a Thursday night and we were looking forward to many a special as shown on the Google reviews (particularly fish dishes) blah blah blah. But no specials on offer.Anyway to cut to the chase.. wifes dish was ok but my sirloin steak was extra chewy but tasty! Was it worth the money... ?No!

Omg an amazing place! The staff are so lovely and friendly and the food was amazing. The mug of tea came out in a cute flower pot mug and a spade as a tea spoon 😍The pub is fresh and modern but not out of keeping from its past.I would love to come here again and try something else from the menu.
