Such a shame a perfect location yet the staff are cold mannered, inexperienced and unattentive to the customers. I watched as many tables complained of waiting too long to be served or their orders taken, staff stood aimlessly looking out of the window whilst customers waited for service. when my food eventually came out it looked lovely yet was very under seasoned, bland and cold in the middle like it had been reheated not cooked fresh. I am sure with a fresh injection of younger more interested, trained buoyant staff the boathouse could return to its former glory.

2 stars because it is an attractive building in a pretty location. Other than that, I can't think of much else good to say. I was there this morning for coffee with 4 others. The guy on reception duties had no social skills whatsoever. He grudgingly showed us to a table as if he was doing us a big favour. He seemed to forget that we are customers to whom he is supposed to provide a pleasant service. The table was grubby and didn't get wiped down. We ordered various coffees and one tea, specifically one of us wanted a single shot coffee. The waitress who brought it hadn't got a clue which one it was and we didn't get the extra oat milk we ordered. One cup had coffee drips all down the outside and we were given one teaspoon between us. The teapot had a non-matching lid which had 3 chips in it. When we got the bill, we were told we had to pay for the extra milk even though we didn't get it, because it was 'on the system'.( I can't comment on the food, as we didn't have any.) A disappointing experience and I won't be back there in a hurry, which is a shame, as I had planned to take my daughters there for lunch in a couple of weeks.

Great Brunch, lovely vibe, good service and the best bubble and squeak I've ever tasted !

Today we went to Chichester Marina and after a stroll we found the Boat House Café. It is such a lovely place very tastefully decorated and furnished. A conservatory and beautiful outside area additional to the great inside. We originally wanted just coffee but couldn't resist the fish finger sandwiches!!! Wow they were the very best. Homemade battered fish fingers in lovely bread. Wonderful. The staff were friendly polite and welcoming. Very efficient and had it running like clockwork. Families and dogs are welcome. Excellent customer service and food.... brilliant. Definitely would go again 😉. Thank you.

A great day spent in the marina. Food was fantastic. Lots of interesting boats, people and actions happening.

This place is in a lovely location and the food is generally very good. However it is completely let down by its long waiting times for orders to be taken and to arrive. Some staff members are very pleasant and are doing their best, but others seem completely oblivious to the fact they are employed to serve customers.I have brought people here to eat, and felt embarrassed and frustrated at the poor level of service and mix ups in orders.Final straw for me, after giving this place several chances to get it right, was being refused drinks on Xmas eve after the barman had already checked it was OK and started serving us.Probably won't bother going back, as other reviewers have said there are many other places in the local area where you can get food and drinks.

Nice place but over priced I'd say. Always happy to pay for quality but it didn't make it for me. "Full breakfast" I had off the menu £12.50, did not come with coffee or tea also I had to order beans separately, not much of a full breakfast.Very loud inside.... Overall it's ok but nothing to get excited about.

Fantastic place to grab some lunch or an early evening snack. Above normal level of cafe or pub food, the level here is a little higher. Nice decor inside and lots of places to sit outside with stunning views.Super friendly staff even when mad busy the lunchtime we visited.. we will return!

Nice enough (friendly staff), ate outside due to caninine companion. Not the warmest evening but when requested the patio heater turned on, was advised 'not working' - not acceptable for an establishment that certainly knows how to charge. Food was nice enough but £8 for a Fish Finger sandwich ! (Fries extra)

Lovely location, food was quite good but overpriced. The junior staff were trying really hard but clearly inexperienced and lacking any leadership. We have eaten here on three occasions recently and the management on each occasion were at best abrupt but actually quite rude and unpleasant. We had for example to have our starters served with our mains! Apparently too busy and yet there were more than 8 tabled not filled. We booked and agreed a table on the terrace in advance but were sent outside as no table was available. It's a shame, but the place needs a rethink and a shakeup. Not sure who is writing all the positive reviews.
