Not the best service in the world. We waited by a sign which read 'Please wait here to be seated'. In the distance we could see a young girl clearing tables totally oblivious to the fact we were waiting. After a few minutes we walked down the stairs and took a table which had yet to be cleared. A lady came over and took our order for drinks but she didn't clear the cups from the previous customer. Tea and coffee was then brought to the table and we placed our order for food. This was brought to the table by the young girl we'd seen previously clearing tables. The plates being hot the girl used the ends of her jumper so she didn't burn herself. On a plus point, the food was good but not much of it for the price.

Came in Feb 2022 half term with my 9 year old as he spotted toasties on the black board outside. He enjoyed his food immensely and my coffee was fine and most importantly hot, I can't fault any of that. The staff were polite when speaking however not one of them had a smile on their faces which kinda made me feel not welcome. I could be wrong.

Delicious cakes, tasty coffee and lovely customer service. Researched where to get coffee and teas in Chichester when meeting a friend. Will definitely visit again. ☺️

There are steps into the Buttery and for the one toilet, so not suitable for wheelchairs. I was disappointed with the plain scone I had. Although it was big and looked very tasty, and came with 4 butters and plenty of jam, it was very stodgy, difficult to swallow and clung to my teeth! It's a good job I'd ordered a pot of tea for two just for myself as I needed it all to wash the scone down! I didn't want to make a fuss and ate it because we were in a hurry, but I wouldn't order another one. I thought the cost was a little excessive too - £11.30 including the white coffee my mum had.

We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea and soup with cheese scone. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Superb architecture, well worth a visit.

Nice food, well cooked. Staff were polite and considerate. Service was prompt and reasonably fast during a busy lunchtime period. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating was available.

Very nice place to eat for a light lunch or coffee break, the building is very unsaual with lots of character. The staff are very friendly , chatty and helpful. The massive scones are a must do with jam and cream. Great place to eat

Lovely cream tea with a nice big pot (three cups) of strong Earl Grey, and a large, warm scone. Beautiful building. Extra points for pink cushions!
