One particular staff member was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, unfortunately I didn’t get her name. We were really happy with the venue and staff. Unfortunately a little underwhelmed by the food. I found the pork belly dish was fine, but very plain and not all that enjoyable. For the price I expected slightly better quality.Overall was a good experience, but very expensive for what it was. If the prices were lower or food a higher standard we would definitely return.

My vegetarian burger was awful sadly. I should have said something at the time but didn't, which isn't fair on them really, but there were no alternatives on the menu anyway. Otherwise a nice pub.

Disappointed, had expected a better Sunday lunch. Plenty of food however beef was under cooked for my liking, knife provided wasn't sharp enough to cut the meat, food was warm not hot and broccoli was under cooked.

The Super Size Sunday lunch is not very super sized. The meat was tough and the jus was sparingly applied. For £22.50 I expect more. The service was slow and, when we requested to move tables, to one of the other 4 seaters not by the door, it all felt a bit too much trouble. The Treacle pie was more like an apple flapjack than treacle. For £7.50 it was not worth it, and we all agreed we should have given it a miss.Very average.

Head chef came across aggressive when mentioned that the roast potatoes weren't cooked properly by raising her voice then she grabbed my partners potatoes of his plate with her hands, "but she wore gloves" so that justified everything?! Never again. In response to the comment of actual manager; And yes we might have come across aggressive when head chef grabs the potatoes of a half full plate; I was just shocked and truthfully disgusted. And thank you for your response. Hope you'll get your "manager" sorted. No hard feelings and we won't be coming again for the Freeby, please give it to Stonepillow with our compliments.

What a change, we visited last summer with our two small dogs and had a brilliant time, the staff were excellent and menu and food superb. Our experience this time was awful, when I asked if we could be seated with our dogs the female member of staff pulled a strange face and eventually said yes (I saw other dogs in there) then on seating ourselves we saw another couple with a dog leave a table which we then occupied. The the same female came over and said dogs weren’t allowed in that part and it was only because the last couple had booked that they were allowed to sit there… although she said we could stay we decided to leave, my wife said she saw her pulling strange faces at us when we were seating ourselves (probably the same face she pulled when I first approached her).. get your policy sorted please, you’re either dog friendly or you’re not.. we were really looking forward to our second visit.. never again..

Booked for Sunday dinner. Friendly staff, however the food we were served was luke warm, and would not of passed food hygiene heating guidelines the mush on the side of the plate was identified as cauliflower cheese...the veg was nice. The server was a young girl who seemed to be doing it all while the other staff sat around the bar not reall caring what was going on. We didn't complain as we didn't want the young girl dealing with it as she seemed to have alot to do with little help

So disappointed with the food after initially being impressed by the menu. My wife and I had a chicken club sandwich, and found gristle and bone in both. The rest of the food was no better. Service was fine but we will not be returning. Shame

Just had a wonderful Sunday lunch here, didn’t get five stars because the plates could have been hot and the pork was a bit overcooked! Saying that everything else was top notch with a really good wine list too! Service was excellent! We will definitely return

This was, without a doubt, the best food we have ever eaten at a pub. We are in Chichester for the weekend from London and didn't know what to expect food-wise, but its honestly some of the best that we've ever eaten. And the service was incredible, we had Katie and Aaron tending to us for the evening, and they could not have been more welcoming or delightful. Will definitely get the 90 minute train down here again, just to come here for another meal.
