Popped in on a whim whilst moving my Daughter back to West Dean for the new term.Gobsmacked at the prices, a bottle of cider £7.50 in a free House! menu was a little restricted, small portions which carry a premium £71 for 2 drinks, olives and bread and 2 mains. This not sour grapes, I have worked in Catering for 38 years, I know how to work out a GP, and your mark up is extreem. But they seem to have a lot of positive reviews, maybe the tough Chicken was a one off.You really need to judge for yourselves.I however will not be returning.

The meat eaters had an absolutely fabulous lunch but the vegetarian options were very poor. A single choice in both starters and mains. If they’d been good options it wouldn’t have been a problem but they were both vegan; every chef should know, there’s a very big difference between being a vegan and a vegetarian and it’s very dull being lumped into the same group. In fact it’s just plain lazy, gastronomically speaking. I expected better at such a nice restaurant to be honest. Very disappointing.

Nice and chill atmosphere. Food was good too.

The most amazing food....I can't wait to come back 😍

Great food but one of the waitresses was hopeless. Shame as it could have made a good meal a great experience.

Really enjoyed a birthday meal here with family, delicious food, my fillet steak was cooked to perfection! ( I like mine well done, but not 'overdone' ) The chef deserves an award! Thanks also to Izzy our attentive server.

Booked a birthday celebration lunch and wanted to be able to take our puppy. Very pleased to find outdoor seating surrounded by fields & views across the countryside. Menu was varied and very appetising! I ordered a monkfish main and was not disappointed. Beautifully presented and delicious! We all enjoyed our meals (steak dish & fish & chips also ordered). We then ordered pudding, again dishes were very good.Eaton mess, sorbet all good.Lovely staff, attentive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic tasting food, beautifully presented and very good portion sizes. Nice wine list including local fizz. Excellent value and friendly but relaxed and unobtrusive service.Gorgeous interior decor, although we were sat outside for covid restrictions on a nice terrace with pleasant views. Will return

If I could rate this place higher I would. Firstly I want to thank all of the management and staff for making my grandads 80th birthday a special one. The food was cooked to perfection and all three courses were a delight. Our meal was accompanied by a fabulous bottle of local wine that was enjoyed by all. Massive compliments to the chef as the flavours were exceptional and it’s a meal that will be remembered. I would encourage people to go and support this incredibly beautiful local business you will not regret it.

We had a lovely evening at The Earl of March. Food was of high quality and highly recommend. Was on the more expensive side, but nice as a treat for a birthday celebration.
