The Fox Goes Free in Chichester

Been here for lunch and dinner lots of times over the last 10 years and its always been amazing but unfortunately this Sunday the food was quite poor. The beef sirloin was so tough it couldnt be cut with a knife and the roast potatoes were cold and dry like they had been left under a heater. Really disappointed as I had taken family to the fox for the 1st time after telling them how good the food was!

Always a problem with this place! Yes the food is fine, but the admin is just terrible. They never answer the phone, but when they do, they won’t take bookings for tables in the garden. Then you arrive and get one only to then be told they can’t serve walk ins for another 45 minutes! Now there are other options in the area, I’m not sure this is a great way to run a business. Try the Partridge in neighbouring Singleton. New management and great food, without all the problems the Fox brings with it. Not worth it.

Gorgeous food, good range of drinks available including their own beer. Lovely friendly atmosphere, best to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Lovely attentive staff and dogs are allowed.

One of the best pubs I ever went to. The staff is lovely, the food delicious and it feels very cosy with a great ambience. Wether in winter or summer the Fox Goes Free never let's you down!

Lovely country pub, friendly staff, put up with us and our three dogs very well! Food is good, and the log fire is very welcome in the winter.

Me and my husband loved staying here.. the place is so friendly and the staffs are always helpful and nice. The breakfast is delicious and the dinner was so good. Definitely worth another visit:)

Lovely country pub, great atmosphere. I went on a Sunday afternoon for the roast, the roast lamb was amazing, and a very good portion size!They catered to my gluten and dairy allergies easily, because everything is made fresh.

Fantastic house bitter, alongside some staggeringly good lunch options. The bread is especially good. I’d recommend you book, as we chanced a Monday lunch and almost didn’t make it.

Stayed in the next village and this place was recommended to us by our airbnb host. We walked the mile or so along the lane and had a fantastic dinner. Had three course and couldn't quite finish our desserts as we were so full but all the food was delicious. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area. Highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent service.

I have driven past so many times while working and heard so many lovely reviews, and was so pleased to finally have a meal there for my mum's birthday. It is so cosy, amazing views from the garden, staff really friendly and accommodating, and the food was absolutely amazing. Very impressed and can't wait to look for an excuse to go again.
