We were lucky to dine there as we had not booked. There had been a customer ring a few minutes before we arrived who said that they were going to be late. The landlord couldn't have been more hospitable. He offered us a table and we jumped at it. The beer selection was good so I started with a pint of Hanlons Yellow Hammer. Superb. The menu was varied with many quality offerings. A nice young man (whom we later discovered was the landlord's son) took our order. The food was excellent and I passed my compliments to the chef (the landlord's wife). The wine was of a superior quality. Post covid we have been so disappointed with the standard of pubs and restaurants. Not this one. It is an oasis in a desert. We're going there again tomorrow just strictly in the interests of science.

Fantastic food, a great traditional pub. Food and drinks are reasonably priced too. 10/10

Exceptionally friendly, great service and fantastic food. Absolutely loved our visits here and would highly recommend. Easily one of the best pubs we've ever been to. Try their scotch eggs, they are to die for!

What a fantastic pub! The staff were so welcoming from the start and made the experience one to remember. Plus there was so much choice on the menu and the food was so delicious! Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing food, the best Wellington I’ve ever had. Crisp pastry, melt in the mouth beef and lots of flavour. The skate cheeks were really good as well. Lovely friendly staff. Well worth travelling to.

Fabulous service and lovely food in a really great pub. We chatted all evening and didn't have to compete with loud music or big screens. Our second visit was as good as the first.

Character village pub, we received a lovely friendly welcome, great menu choice & delicious food. Great choice of single malt whisky. 2nd visit here. Will definitely return & would recommend.

First time visitors this evening and we'll definitely be back... Took our Nanna for her first steak dinner since moving to South Molton from the Midlands and it was the most I've ever seen her eat! The whitebait starter was tasty and generous, the haggis scotch egg with whisky mayo was perfect (if I wasn't driving I might have added a little more whisky!) And we both enjoyed the red Thai curry. Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
