As regular visitors to Selsey over the past three decades, no trip was complete without a visit to The Lifeboat Inn for lunch/dinner.A highlight of our holiday while staying nearby. The food was amazing, fresh and good value for money. Never worried about the children policy, as that was a breath of fresh air.We visited a couple of days ago expecting much of the same but came away very disappointed. Long gone has the fresh food and value and what has been replaced is frozen, tasteless food that is massively overpriced. It's such a shame as it's set in a lovely location and the staff have always been pleasant, and that still is the case. Also, not being able to order a small portion of food (unless under the age of 12) is a little annoying considering that 2 fish fingers and a portion of chips costs £8.00. No salad, ide or even bread.I'd still recommend for drinks only. Just avoid eating their frozen overpriced food.I hope this once lovely establishment will take this onboard and improve going forward.

This pub was recommended by a friend, you would need a sat nav to find it. it's very close to the actual lifeboat station. The pub is cosy and friendly. We both had the sea bream which was caught fresh that day, by local fishermen. It was cooked beautifully. If we ever go to Selsey again we will definitely go back. Recommended.

We went for dinner at this pub last night with our two children. The drinks and atmosphere were good but the food was very disappointing. The pub claims to specialise in fish dishes, I had the fish pie and my wife had the plaice, both were tasteless and unseasoned. The kids menu is extremely overpriced (contrary to the main menu which is reasonable) but the stuff from the fryer was ok.

Enjoyable cup if coffee in nice surroundings. It would have been nice if the landlady didn't stand in the doorway watching you all the time, a bit off putting. Will we go there again.. yes

We were disappointed as It was advertised as a fresh fish restaurant. We ordered dishes with prawns that were actually shrimps and the sauce was not great and little of it, and sea bass that I believe was frozen and microwaved if not it was over cooked. The vegetables and salad were good and my husband did have battered mushrooms as a starter that he said was very nice.We had to get our own condiments as they did not have any on the table's.Not at all what we expected.

This pub is situated right by the coast, has a massive beer garden and spacious inside too. Views are tremendous.

19/7/20. Under Covid restrictions.Food, staff, service, speed of service, venue, covid safety information,, I cannot fault,, 5 out of 5 guys.4 out of 5 in reality for lack of parking and lunch (not dinner) £40. However was 2 starters 2 main. 1 Tea, 1 pint.Ambience of the The Lifeboat that Sunday was relaxed and under new Covid restrictions was so clearly explained and marked out that I felt safe and relaxed,, going to my local supermarket has the opposite effect,, The Lifeboat cares...Inside and outside available,, we came 'Off the cuff' but booking wont be a problem. Highly recommended. Thank you staff at The Lifeboat.
