Delicious lunch & very prompt. I organised a "Local Ladies" lunch at the old house at home, there was a big group of us and they had everything come out quickly and the food was DELICIOUS. I had a ploughmans, it was amazing, very generous with the cheese. Highly, highly recommend. Thank-you lovely staff for making our lunch so special x

Superb pub, great drinks and the food is excellent. It’s not the cheapest for grub but the prices are fair. Really friendly team working there too. Lovely outside area as well. Lovely

The best ploughmans lunch i have ever had the chutney was homemade and delicious and all the ingredients were first rate. A beautiful garden to sit in too in a most picturesque setting of Chidham! Fantastic walks all around too! Cant wait to go back highly recommend!

Popped in sans reservation Friday lunchtime. Warm welcome from cheerful staff.6 real ales, 4 lagers, 2 ciders. My chum had prawn and avocado sandwich, I had liver and bacon. Both very good, very decent portions. Really good experience. Also felt valued as a customer. Well done Ladies!

Nice warm welcome on arrival staff doing a great job during busy times in keeping the attentive service going to all customers. Great menu with food arriving hot if your having Sunday roasts etc I would highly recommend the old house at home.

Definitely worth a visit or six. Staff very friendly and attentive in a busy pub. Food was delicious and very well presented. We had prawn cocktail, potted crab, lamb chops, steak and ale “all meat, no fatty bits,” corn-fed chicken supreme mushroom and Stilton sauce, smocked salmon salad. All very generous and so so tasty. Everyone was pleased with their choices.Puddings followed (we didn’t really have room, but it had to be done!) ice creams, sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, hazelnut ice cream with meringue and whipped cream. Generous helpings, and we will definitely be back, thank you Clare.

Great food with very friendly staff, and a very cosy atmosphere. I would definitely recommend and the walk around the peninsula was lovely. The chicken, leek and bacon pie was especially good!

Lovely, the staff were so inviting! Served us many a double vodka (they had grey goose on tap!).The burger was really good! Loved the choice of cheeses! Shared a white chocolate brownie to finish! Excellent setting, perfect for a local hike and a lovely country pub with great staff! Bravo!

Lovely setting, was able to get a table in the garden and sunshine. Ready nice food - big portions! Good beers on tap. Car park at the back was full (about 8 cars) so we had to park on the road. Dog friendly

The perfect stop for late lunch while on a walk alongside wheat fields with that amazing golden glow...the staff here were very friendly and welcoming. The meal was wonderful and have to say the ice-cream at the end was just what the doctor ordered on a hot day....thank you all at The Old House at Home....when I'm next in the area I will be popping in again...
