Not been to this pub for more than 14 years so it was interesting to see what's changed, not a lot but it's had a makeover and is clean and a pleasant place to eat and drink. Has around 33 covers so worth while booking. Food was good and plenty on the plates, home made burger, chips and salad. Burger was a little dry but ok, the other plate was scampi, chips and salad and tartar sauce, very nice with a clean plate at the end. We both had desert, profiteroles and sponge pudding. Very good. Coffees to follow. Service was good and fast with attentive staff. Came to £46.00 which these days is about average. Has a beer garden.

Really nice place and food was lovely. We told the manager how lovely the food was when he came to collect our plates. It was shame the manager had to mention something (in a slightly rude way) about the nearly empty coke can that my young daughter brought in with her that she had from before we went into the pub. Seeing as though we had bought drinks from the pub and spent £40 on lunch I didn't think there was any need for it. Ruined the experience slightly. Otherwise would have been 5 star

We was looking for somewhere to eat and fell upon this pub. It was a very busy huge pub. We were seated and served quite quickly considering how busy the pub was. We chose two different dishes, both was cooked to perfection and was amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will most definitely go back when in the area. Certainly recommended.

Really enjoyed the local sausage and mash, very popular restaurant.Only fault found was lack of distancing.Arrived and seated comfortably, but by time meal finished, had to ask other diners to move their chairs so as to exit. Not comfortable now with covid risk!

Spur of the moment decision to go for a birthday lunch but very glad we did. Lovely fresh food, lots of choice on the menu, very attentive and friendly staff. Can't rate it highly enough. Will definitely be returning.

We had the most delicious Sunday lunch meal today for my dad's 80th birthday. Roast beef and pork were divine. Salmon on roasted veg was perfectly cooked. My teen daughter (very picky) devoured the carrot & Parsnip soup along with three medley of vegetables for the roast... this was nothing short of a miracle!!! 🐷. Desserts were amazing. Five very happy eaters. 5 stars 🌟

First time I've been here. Car park was busy, nice and clean inside. Didn't book but wasn't a problem. Shown to a cosy table by the fire. Menu was comprehensive, ordered 2 starters and a simple chicken burger. All very tasty. Service was OK. Got a bit smoked out from the fire placeCaters for an older customer and more of a restaurant than a pub, but will be back

Visited many times in the past but must say yesterdays Sunday roast dinner was amazing, the best. Plenty of veg, huge Yorkshire and so much Turkey on the hot plate. 90 year old mum loved it, ate most of the huge lunch too. Great service, food came out piping hot … well done chef’s… our local so can walk there & back!! Great price too!

Starting positive, the waiters/waitresses were amazing. One young waiter in particular did an amazing job attending our table and I'd like to make that point clearly, he is a great credit to the establishment and both myself and the party i was with were all well looked after during his care. The manager however was rude, and out of line in his attending of our table. Now firstly, I myself eat steak more times in a single month than most individuals do in a year, so I know what I'm talking about where steak is involved. It's rare in itself that I ever send a something back to the kitchen, depending on certain factors however it has been known to happen. In the end I want what I've asked for, especially considering I'm paying the charge. Never before though have I had the management present themselves to the table solely to tell me that the food was right and that I was wrong. This is both extremely unprofessional, and an obvious example of his poor character. The issues were soon resolved and I found the food to be amazing thereafter. Worth the price, (which might I add is more than one might expect) ... on all other accounts the food was served well and although the visit was quick it was indeed pleasant.
