Great food but there can be a long wait

used to serve the best chow mein in town its now so waterey and the beef always red

Cold overcooked greasy chewy food had to wait an hour. How can you have every component cold. Really poor quality and service. As other Chinese closed today gave it a shot. What a mistake

The mixed starter was cold, very greasy and over deep fried. The ribs were really dry. Had a 1/4 duck that I think had been deep fried to reheat it and it was hard. Mains dishes were OK, but not as hot as usual. Disappointing delivery, usually much better.

I was surprised to read such varying reviews of this place, there were really good and bad ones at times. I decided to give it a try with my family at the other weekend. Our bill came to £19.30 per person including the drinks and we didn’t feel disappointed at all. The family had also commented the food served on the night is delicious and good quality. I will take my family to come back again and see if the good food quality and service consistent, only time can tell !?

First time using this takeaway have to say best chinese takeaway I've had in a long time. Food was great quality was delivered still piping hot. Delivery driver struggles to find us as normal but phoned us straight away so no problem there. Price is normal for a chinese so not over priced as others are saying. Will definitely be using again to see if the standard we recieved tonight is the norm and then will definitely give 5 stars. Keep up the good work!!

We are regular and enthusiastic Chinese takeaway customers, but won't be coming here anymore. Over priced over charged, Crispy seaweed dish missing. Sloppy inattentive service, everytime we've ordered to collect we have to wait as they are late bringing food out. Parking close is difficult. Foods ok but not the quality you'd expect for the price.

I have eaten here many times over the years both inside the restaurant and takeaway. I feel that the quality and taste of the food on offer, has gone down over the years. I have eaten the Chinese curry, sweet and sour pork. The restaurant isn't that popular so sometimes we are the only patrons in there.

Only 4 star at this time as it was my first visit for a takeaway, I found it very clean welcoming and the Gentleman that served me was very polite friendly and engaged in conversation.The food was outstanding, flavoursome and was plenty of it in large containers. The curry I had was delicious (not full of onion) but with much meat and veg with a great taste and aroma.I only have one criticism but I am sure it was just a simple mistake, I ordered a Roast Pork Curry but when it come to dishing up it was a Beef Curry. Not a problem though as it was great.Will definitely be using them again, I wont be complaining about the mistake as I enjoyed it so much, so overall much better than other local Chinese Takeaways in taste and amount, and time waiting.I think giving them 5 stars will have to wait until a couple more visits and a seating in the delightful restaurant they have.Great meal Chinese Cottage look forward to trying another dish, preferably a 'Roast Pork Curry' lol...Coming back to this review.... After tonight Jan 14 2018. Had a problem with my order again as the same above, but this is not the second time, it is the 4th or 5th issue since writing this review.Now adding to my review, I will never be using this establishment again and I will be informing all my family and friends that use you not to either.After tonight you was rude and unprofessional, even after informing you my mother recently died who was one of your regular customers, you simply said 'Find a better restaurant'.Disgusting rude and unapologetic. Even when I was leaving I replied to another comment you made, by saying that I had no problem with your food it is outstanding but your service and attitude is terrible.Avoid this restaurant!!

Usually excellent service but we recently had a bad experience and was not happy with the response. We were given completely the wrong order & had to wait nearly 25min for the right food. The compromise being we lost one item as it would take too long to re-cook. So we expected our order with some money back too. Order arrived and we were told the money would be "taken off our next bill" - not at all happy. Eventually we had a phone call back to process a refund by card.
