One of the biggest spoils I've ever had.. Gilbey's was absolutely magical. Their St. Valentines 5 course tasting menu was exceptional and they went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time! Favorite dish had to be the Sloe Gin-Cured Breast of Merrifield Farm Duck but by the time I got to that course I was so full I couldn't finish the plate! Its times like these I wish I had a bigger stomach because that food was absolutely phenomenal! What an experience πŸ₯‚

Wonderful staff and service last night at Gibbleys. The food was delicious with freshly baked bread and quality ingredients. The upstairs room is delightfully decorated and cosy. We had a lovely evening. We'll be back. Many thanks.

Great independent restaurant. Delish early menu which has some different choices. All delicious. Staff were lovely and even brought me a birthday treat on the house.

Been meaning to try Gilbey's for a while and I wasn't disappointed tonight. Very good chicken liver parfait (rich and airy). Excellent pork belly with cider; the roasted cauliflower was a nice touch. Best lemon tart I've had in ages; very light and creamy.

First time dining here. The food was out of this world; I had 3 courses of the most delicious food. The waiter was also great. He kept us laughing and it was a wonderful evening.

A wonderful restaurant. Booking is recommended to guarantee to have a table. There are outdoor seatings. The restaurant is right in the centre of the old town. Parking very nearby. We ordered from the 2-course menu. All dishes are amazing. With the 2 courses and a drink per person, it was Β£30 including device. The service is great. Staff friendly and patience.

Hired the private room upstairs for my mums birthday. All party members were very impressed with the room, food was delicious and service was on point. Nothing was too much bother, our waiter was so lovely and even took time to take pictures and video's for us. This was our first visit there and we will be returning. Thank you for making my mothers birthday special.

We had a lovely mid-week lunch at Gilbeys and the place was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food came well presented and we had no complaints about portion size. Both starters and mains were delicious and I would consider the meal to be good value given the location. The place is fairly small but they have made the most of the period features of the building. There's also a small outside seating area that would no doubt be very pleasant in the summer months. I don't doubt we'll be back.

Great place to eat very friendly staff food very lovely.but it is a bit expensive but was nice for a treat. One thing we didnt like they added the tip to the bill at 12% they say its optional but who would ask to have it removed in front of other dinnersTo us it should be the customers choice but it us split around all the staff
