Merlin's Cave Pub and Restaurant in Chiltern

Was told it is changing owners so hopefully the new people will improve. No food, half the beers off, garden run down and overgrown. The garden could be excellent with some investment, new tables with sun shades and a kiddie play area would make this a go to destination.

It was closed on a Thursday lunchtime, and the sign says they don't serve food even when open. I hope they sort themselves out as it looks good through the windows.

Says it open on there website, arrived today for lunch and was closed, closed Monday, Tues and Wed, opens 5pm today Thurs. Went to the feathers instead far nicer pub. You've lost my custom hate being messed about

Lovely pub and restaurant. Beautiful decor with very friendly staff. Food was delicious too. Thoroughly enjoyed spending over 4 hours here catching up with a friend over a relaxing lunch.

Merlin's is a lovely pub, currently the menu is very good and we were a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed the food. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits. In the better months a cracking garden and the pub has parking

A very nice, cosy pub.Never been here before, came here to celebrate a family bday.The food was soo nice.I ordered Duck parcels, which I could have easily had more..so lovely.My main I ordered the cheese burger, I asked if they had a alternative to cheese as I'm lactose intolerance, the waitress came back and forth to make sure I got the right cheese. I'm so happy that they had a cheese alternative, as some restaurants still dont.My husband had ordered in a cake, which the restaurant allowed, brilliant.A lovely bday meal out out..finally.

Welcoming staff and fast service. The restaurant looks great and the food is exceptional. Top end quality while maintaining reasonable prices and a modern pub atmosphere.

Had a family 40th here recently. The service was excellent and the food was great. Really friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to our next visit..

Really nice country pub with fab garden under cover to protect from the unpredictable elements.Food good (duck bonbons and a pint of Guinness go well together - who knew!) and nice atmosphere.Dog-friendly which has tempted us to return with our lab next time around (here's hoping he doesn't take a running jump into the nearby duckpond!).Carly was great serving us (prompt and without error). Congrats to Russ you must be proud. Bravo!
