The Red Lion in Chiltern

It is a nice place generally with a nice garden and lovely interior inside. The food was very tasty. However the service needs improvement. It took more than an hour to get our food and when we got our desert we were waiting forever for the spoons.

Despite being by the side of a busy road, the garden is very well designed with tiki huts with cushions, heaters and pull down screens incase of bad weather. Bar and waiting staff all very friendly and attentive. With music playing, nice sunny day it’s a lovely place to sit!

If you're ever in Penn, avoid the Royal Standard of Englad pub and absolutely come here!!! The Red Lion is the absolute opposite. All the waitresses were extremely attentive, professional and caring. Super positive attitude and spot on customer and waiting services. We felt taken care of the whole time. The food is AMAZING, massive compliments to the chefs! Even as a mistake was made which was partly our fault, they still took a drink off our bill and were so quick to rectify the error. Really impressed. Thank you for a perfect experience!

Went to The Red Lion at Penn for an evening meal with two family members on a Saturday. We were warmly greeted, had a good choice of main meals and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will go back and would recommend.

Ordered food to have the waiter return to say didnt have any that item so had to re order, i think being told when first given menu would have been better.The chicken burger was dry and overcooked the onion rings were greasy. Overall not impressed

The Red Lion is a wonderful pub, full of character and serves the tastiest food. Glorious Lou who runs the pub is helpful, kind and full of charisma. She has put together a brilliant team and pours the best local Ale. Couldn't love this place anymore!

Popped in for a Sunday roast. And we're NOT disappointed. Stunning meal. Lovely pub in a beautiful village location. Will definitely be visiting again

Great place I dont live in the area so was glad for somewhere near I could chill and relax....Staff is really great and very helpfulHad a burger today and I like burger sauce....chef made a spicy sauce for me im still licking my lips

Cosy friendly pub that does lovely fish and chips in two sizes. Also has a brunch menu Tuesday to Saturday TIL 2pm with full English or lighter options like eggs Benedict smoked salmon etc.Great location opposite the duck pond and the bus stop if you can’t drive!! Also nice walk behind the pub with kids dogs etc.
