I don't visit this pub very often but when I do I've always found that the ales offered are good and the food is average but reasonably priced. Its not the liveliest of pubs but it's ideal if you want to go somewhere quiet for a chat. It's had a couple of facelifts over the years but still doesn't have the character of some of the others in Crawley.

If you're looking for a place that's under the radar, that provides a fantastic quality cut 8oz steak that you can pull apart for under a tenner. Here is the place. Haven't tried anything else on the menu as the steaks have been consistent (I like mine rare) and it's hard to get a good steak anywhere these days (it seems)

Unbelievably good food at an unexpectedly reasonable price. The pub itself really needs a bit of 'tlc' but if you can see past this then Charcoal Burner is a friendly place to have a drink and a meal.
