Very disappointed, they had no mashed or whole potatoes, flat Yorkshire puds, vegetables were dry and overcooked and no variety. Meat rationed. My sticky toffee pudding was cold when arrived and very dry and hard very much like a malt loaf. Then I ordered a medium white wine, which tasted watered down which we exchanged. We travelled from Tyne and wear on holiday, and decided to call into your carvery, no-one came to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. ÂŁ60 it cost us. Would definitely not go back there again. And certainly would recommend it. We often go to Toby where we live and have no problem with the meal.

This Toby has recently had a really nice makeover and is now a much brighter more welcoming environment. Food has always been good here and happy to report that the standards are still excellent.

I love Toby! I heard an opinion that this is not best one in the area BUT... I went and loved it! and it was before refurb the place has just undergone. Meat was lovely, staff friendly, interesting building. Can't wait to go again! Yum :)

I ordered for well done eggs but instead received half done eggs, cold hash browns, greasy bacon. The restaurant note clearly mentioned well done eggs Expectant mother. On call with restaurant staff explaining this situation. The staff clearly says “WE DON’T READ CUSTOMER NOTES” and no apology from staff for for the inconvenience, very disappointed with the food quality and the customer service.

Food was nice and plentiful, and represented good value. We have actually returned with other visiting family members after having a great first experience a couple of weeks ago. However today, our experience was not so good solely down to the awful attitude of our server who lacked the most basic of manners, let alone customer service. We had not long sat down when she practically demanded our order within milliseconds of being handed the menu (we had to ask for one and hadn't chance to even look at it) She visibly expressed her displeasure that we didn't have our order quickly enough for her, giving off a hostile vibe that was remarked upon by all of our party. We were also left second guessing whether the server had heard us when we requested menu items or the bill because she didn't even acknowledge or look at us. Very rude.

This is 2 stars based on customer service from one of the staff. We were shown to seats by the window which was draughty and radiator not on. We asked if we could have a seat elsewhere as we felt very cold there- when the staff member asked her senior colleague if this was possible her reply was 'I don't know. It is cold everywhere -this is an old building !! and why would you feel colder sitting by a window?!'We persisted so were taken to another seat - still by the window but radiator was on and very much warmer. Staff attitude was rather rude we thought.

Enjoyed a low-key pre-Christmas lunch here with family. Waitress was very jolly, and the food was nicely cooked and in good quantity from the help-yourself carvery. Thought the 2-course meal was great value. Would certainly go there again.

Customer service was good. The young lady who attended to us, was pleasant and checked on us several times to make sure we were OK. The atmosphere was pleasant and warm. The food was typical as expected from here, but the slices of meats were extremely thin to te point you could actually see through some of them. I would recommend a visit here.

My husband and I went to the Toby Carvery in Crawley for a meal. We both chose the Carvery and were delighted with the quality of the food. The beef and turkey were both tasty and tender, the roast potatoes nice and crispy and all the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The only disappointment was the sausages that were a bit hard and overcooked. However, the staff were wonderful and service excellent. So we will be going back soon.
