Castle Fish Bar in Dover

I have purchased cod and chips before but the ones I had tonight where awful - the cod was very thin, cold and hard so I would imagine it was unsold from lunch time. A real shame and a total waste of money and the drive. The pic shows how thin it was and it wasnt a tail end....even my dog refused it!

Our go-to place for Fish and Chips!! Love Castle Fish Bar. Great food, great service and reasonably priced too! What's not to love.

Always good, crispy fish, nice and chunky flakes. Use it more than most others in deal. Staff always so pleasant, keep it up 😊

Have been using the Castle Fish Bar since it was opened 8 yeRs ago. Still the same brilliant service and great food.

Fish great, crisp, golden, right amount of batter and done to perfection. Chips slightly under cooked and powdery. Portion sizes OK, food piping hot but not a huge amount of wrapping to keep it warm. Female cook with long hair wore neither hair net or face mask. Male assistant taking payment also no mask and no hand cleansing between transactions. Service friendly. Atmosphere OK but wonder how trading standards awarded a 5 / 5 grade for hygiene. Covid precautions poor.

This is my mother-in-law's favourite Fish and Chip shop, and whenever we come down to visit her, we always get treated to fish and chips. This was our first trip back to Castle Fish Bar since Lockdown and it was as good as ever. The fish is always so fresh and the batter light, and the chips are to die for! We always get a friendly welcome and it always looks spotless. We love the flower baskets outside too. Looking forward to our next trip to Deal, when no doubt we will be enjoying some more fish and chips!

I visited this traditional fish and chip shop, rather than my normal haunt as it was on my way home and I was pressed for time. I will certainly visit again as it was spotlessly clean, friendly staff and most importantly the scampi and chips was excellent.
