La Scala in Dover

Had an absolutely fantastic experience here this evening, the food was excellent and very reasonably priced, the staff were friendly and offered extremely good service, highly recommend!

Bad customer service from the headchef. First order, the fish served was not fresh. Asked for another meal and they honored that, the pasta dish was better. The whole experience was not a pleasant one. I wouldn't recommend.

The opposition has been saying for months that we need to go to this restaurant and we kept putting it off due to working all the time. We finally had time to go and I thought perhaps there was a chance we had built it up too much with anticipation and it might not live upto our expectations, we need not have worried as it was amazing.We had a perfect afternoon. The starters were good (we had 4 between us) the mains were great (we both had the chicken pasta dish) and the dessert was really something, (I had ice cream and coffee), it wasn't on the menu but it was the owners suggestion and I'm glad I listened to him, he was a fantastic host, very chatty and interesting. ​Will be returning again soon and again after that to try everything on the menu.

Good atmosphere, well priced, proper Italian food with a range of viable options. Best of all the chef let us order a dessert not on the menu, the zabaglione. Whilst zabaglione is hard to make, the chef got it just right!

The food here was great, I absolutely recommend this place when you visit Dover, the staff here are great. The head chef was so friendly and served us with the most delicious food, it was a wonderful dining experience!

Last time my wife and I came for lunch, we forgot to leave a review. This time I am happy to correct this omission.We had an excellent lunch. The food was , as before, quite delicious. The chef, proprietor is always helpful and his wine list has a good range at very sensible, affordable prices.I recommend La Scala and rate it excellent.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional! The restaurant owner (also the main chef) came out to talk to us and was very friendly, chatty and helpful even providing directions to the White Cliffs.The restaurant is very nicely decorated with some amazing wall paintings commissioned by the owner.Definitely would be a regular here if we lived in Dover!Thoroughly recommend it!

Wonderful dining experience. Outstanding food and great staff is always a winning combination.They were really busy but didn’t let that affect the service. Besides the fact we are a family of 4 with 3 different food allergies. Including Coeliac, dairy and egg. They catered for us without any fuss. The food was delicious.All staff were well mannered, polite, very efficient and easy to approach.We felt very well looked after and definitely one of the best meals We’ve had in ages.Thanks again to all the staff.

Amazing place! All people were very nice, and food was delicious (tiramisu and bruschetta was absolutely perfect!). Food portions are very good. We had no problem with reservation, also there is an easy option to give a tip with a card. I can highly recommend to everyone!

The restaurant is very well decorated, classic Italian style. Very friendly waiter, willing to explain the dishes and the wine, very knowledgeable. Pasta is nice, sauce with good flavouring with the swordfish dice. Gamberoni is well pan fried with full of garlic, butter, basil flavour, house wine is fine.
