A Great time had whilst my mate and i visited the pub in Sandwich. The staff were very friendly and helpful and v happy to help and recommend places to visit whilst visiting the area for the weekend. Will deffo visit again hopefully next month and will look forward to being welcomed again in the pub. Ronnie and Reggie 😃

Great local pub for Sandwich. Went there to watch the Lions Rugby final test with South Africa. Good atmosphere with friendly staff and locals.

Not very welcoming down to our accents as we entered to watch England game 3 hours prior. After an hour of having drinks we witnessed afood being served to the locals. To conclude, the service was very selective and missed oyt on a £400 bar bill. Sad really.

For starters, anyone who complained about it being “overrun by locals” is just daft because that’s what makes a pub a pub in a town like this. I thought it added character to what would be a very quiet and possibly empty place. The service was great, we were welcomed and looked after from start to finish and to be honest it was great to hear the banter of the locals. The food served was delicious and served in a timely manner. The price for the two lunches inc drinks was under £20. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of life in your beautiful little town

I think a lot of reviewers live in la la land, where the pub is situated in front of two bus stops they do have to cross the line with allowing people use there toilets.. however I do know that they allow you to use them if you’re elderly , disabled or children can’t be any fairer than that in my eyes? A proper boozer, various music plays , serial tv’s for sport! A jukebox , pool table , dartboard , bar billiards .. overall there’s something to meet everyone’s needs . Beer is very nice! Made all feel welcome. Must try!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PUB. THE STAFF AT THIS PUB WERE TERRIBLE.They are rude and obnoxious. They have no idea what customer services means. We simple ordered a drink and what came out of their vile mouths was enough to put you off. THE LANDLADY AND HUSBAND? WERE HOSTILE AND AGGRESSIVE.My fragile elderly mother wanted to go to the bathroom and they stopped her from going. They were very threatening and intimidating. We did not feel safe in their. They discriminated us! I would strongly advise not to go to this pub at all. They are mean and have no manners and they have no understanding of how to treat people. The audacity of these people! I WOULD NOT EVEN RATE THIS PUB ONE STAR!!!! i RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT GO TO THIS PUB.

Once again the best pub in Sandwich.New tenants have transformed this old hostelry and put back the style which had been removed by the previous tenants.A great welcome. Fast friendly service. An upmarket menu, but well priced, and my Amex card welcome!Perhaps just a tweak to the wine list?
