Beautiful cosy venue with beams and open fire with a marquee on the grounds for weddings and events. Nice bar inside the heated marquee and new block of toilets been built on the grounds to cater for event/wedding participants. My friends had their wedding service on the grounds right next to the marquee, then a sit down 3 course meal served. Great place for large parties. I didn't get to see their rooms as they were all booked so I used a local bnb.

My husband organised a 2 night stay at the blazing donkey for our Wedding Anniversary, he found a really good deal on Travel Zoo! It literally is in the middle of nowhere, beautiful surroundings, cute country style apartments. Lovely and warm, comfy bed. Iron & Ironing board in the room. I read some of other reviews about the staff being rude, we didn't find this at all infact we found allthe staff we delt with very friendly and accommodating especially Chris and Trevor. Breakfast was lovely, great coffee. The pub itself is very clean, lovely open fire which we were able to sit by and have a drink. Drinks were a bit pricey as were the dinner menus and not great vegetarian options but there are plenty of other places nearby to try in Deal & Sandwich. All in all we had a great stay.

A friendly welcome awaits at this quirky little hideaway deep in the Kentish countryside. You have a choice of comfortable rooms in converted stables or gorgeous glamping in shepherd huts or luxury two bedroom tents. We stayed in the stables and had a very comfortable bed. The main hotel building, an updated old pub, was beautifully decorated with a roaring fire and plenty of beams, but also comfortable furnishings and a stylish modern twist, where every detail had clearly been considered with care. The service was friendly and excellent, with plenty of local advice and nothing seemed too music trouble. The absolute highlight for me though was the restaurant. The food was delicious, with a young gourmet chef clearly striving to impress, and certainly achieving it. My Halibut was particularly tasty and i'd strongly recommend it, but the entire menu looked great. Breakfast was also wonderful and very generous, which set us up for our day in the nearby charming medieval town of Sandwich.

Had a lovely tour around the place. Helpful staff on standby and explained how everything would work and provided more information on request. There is an option for an indoor event if the weather is not very nice. The barn rooms where really nicely decorated, and if people fancy a bit of glamping, there is an option for it as well.

Went here for a 21st birthday party, and stayed overnight, the food provided for the party was first class especially the homemade scotch eggs they were phenomenal!the room was very cosy and the bed was sumptuous.the breakfast was very good and came with black pudding-yummy!.The staff were very professional and friendly,my wife had a slip and the treatment received was very good indeed and documented properly. All in all we had a lovely time here and we are planning to return as soon as possible!

Went to meet with Richard and his team for a wedding viewing. Everyone was so friendly, polite and welcoming they made us feel very relaxed. The venue is amazing and just what we were looking for. Have booked with them and can not wait for our wedding day!

I had Christmas dinner here. The service and venue were excellent. Lovely helpful staff and the place is beautiful. The food though was seriously poor. The starter and desert were basic and underwhelming. The vegetarian main dish was truly disgusting, dry and almost inedible. When you pay £95 for a three course Christmas dinner the expectations are high. I’ve had better roast potatoes from a Wetherspoons. The vegetables consisted of one 3 inch piece of carrot, mushrooms and boiled cabbage and cauliflower. The disappointment quelled my appetite.

Stayed for 2 nights and had dinner and breakfast. Trefor and Chris gave wonderful service. The accommodation was very pleasant and the location was delightful. We could see some donkeys grazing from our room window, to add to the experience. Fantastic stay.
