Silvano's Fish Bar in Dover

They seem to love wasting people's time. Tried to go twice as, according to Google and the sign on the door it was meant to be open but it was actually shut. It doesn't take much to update your business hours and have some respect for your customers. Never again

They probably think the lack of customers is down to the weather and not their attitude.

Unfortunately this place has gone massively downhill over the last couple of years. I keep giving it the benefit of the doubt and trying again every few months but it doesn't get any better. Poor quality chips, often many small overcooked chips in there, fish in batter often dry and never seems freshly cooked. A real pity because it used to be so good and the staff are friendly

IT'S A NO FROM ME.... LOOKS ARE DECEIVING FROM THE OUTSIDE!!!!!Just moved to Dover from Scotland ... Wanted to find a good chippy... Looks amazing from the outside... Had cod and chips, fritters and a battered sausage.... Chips were solid had to throw them away 😔 cod was all stuck to the paper and lost half of it, only to realise the skin was still on.. This should be an option... Disgusting... Threw it all in the bin... On a plus... Fritters were lovely 😊 then I was up all night with an upset stomach... Definitely won't be back.... Staff were lovely though, fast efficient and very friendly atmosphere... Shop is spotless but food a letdown.... Sorry its a no from me 🙅‍♀️

Not for the first time but definitely the last time we've had fish and chips from you, the fish is lovely and the batter is very light but no clue what you do to the chips - they are small, hard and inedible, we must throw away at least half.The 2 🌟 are for the fish. You must read the reviews but you don't do anything about it, such a shame.

Had large cod and chips. Cod was lovely, large and crispy. Chips were okay, but there were so many. Overall a nice dinner.

Absolutely love it here! The shop itself is always very clean and clearly following covid-19 guidelines with masks/ the screen / the one way system. Never have to wait long for my order and food is always delicious. Staff in there always up for a chat and a bit of banter, especially Sabrina. Thank you again Donna for another great dinner! Cant wait for next Friday for another fish and chips!

Worst chips I’ve had in my life, Wednesday 16th 12.30pm. Had to look through to find ones that were edible. Like they had been there since yesterday or last week. Avoid like the plague

First time here looks lovely outside had 2 sausage and chip sausage lovely the chips were hot warm hard brown , worst ive had, chucked the lot . I never moan but I would not serve them at all I could not go in to complain as I drove off away to eat just beware CHIPS .

I visit this shop once every couple of months. Overall standard of food is pretty good except for today when the chips were either overcooked or undercooked (I can't decide which). It had a layer of tough skin over each and every chip that made it difficult to chew. I had to throw the whole bag of chips away and only ate the scampi. I probably won't patronize again.
