I had a tough time deciding what to rate our stay at St Crispin Inn. We booked last minute for an impromptu stay in Kent, and the location was perfect for all we wanted to do in the area. The price was cheaper than other Inns in the area, and the room itself was fantastic for the price. The bed was comfortable, the room warm and spacious. Breakfast is offered for an extra £8.50 which I felt was reasonable. All this would have been worth 5 stars, had our experience not been ruined by our inconsiderate neighbours. We stayed in one of the chalet rooms out the back of the inn, which has a patio area in front of it. The visitors in the room beside us decided to gossip loudly while smoking outside our window, which while annoying would have been fine if they hadn’t proceeded to do this about once an hour every hour for the entire evening. We could hear their conversation as clear as day, and at 1am my husband finally got out of bed and asked them to keep it down. They moved a little further away which did nothing to dampen the sound and continued for another half an hour before finally giving us some respite. We had to leave early the following morning and we were pretty tired and grumpy for our drive home. This may have been a one off, but the chalet accomodation is mere meters from the beer garden, and I suspect in the summer months when it is in operation getting to sleep at any decent hour would be impossible. So in summary - fantastic accomodation provided you don’t actually intend on getting any sleep.

Very nice big portion sizes roast dinner was tasty and home cooked, the only slight negative would be to put more lighter puddings on the menu ie creme brulee etc

We went here for Sunday lunch, had read reviews as not been here before. Set in a lovely little village. It was not rammed like other popular pubs which was great, made for a quiet relaxed atmosphere, staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. There is a good choice of food and drinks. I had the Sunday roast lamb, fantastic, good portion of thick cut meat too! 👍🏼 I would guess the veg is locally sourced Yorkshire pud HOMEMADE? also at the table ordered was Sunday roast beef again fabulous nice tasting too as we tried each other’s meals!! 😁 and two HOMEMADE beef pies, wow 🤤After mains two of us were brave enough to go for dessert, so two HOMEMADE apple pies with custard landed on the table and the others, all of a sudden found a further appetite and tucked in as well.We had a great time and will both be back and would highly recommend. Many thanks for a great meal St Crispin.

Mid week lunch, had been to the St Crispin some years ago and had a very good experience, so called in on our way home for lunch. Lovely village setting. On entering the bar lady was not particularly welcoming but we opted to eat in the garden, we were pushed to make our drink and meal decision. Found the garden to be in a poor state at minimum the grass could have been cut, the furniture though plentiful was also in poor condition. The food, BLT sandwich nice presentation but bread quite dry (not the freshest) St Crispin burger again nice presentation fantastic fries though burger on the salty side. For the price we would have expected better.
