We had stayed here three times in the last year all before covid-19 started, and once post covid-19. The standards have always been very high, and nothing has changed! It's now a contact less checking in process and sadly the bar is no longer open(due to covid-19 restrictions), but we still enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the very near future. I can highly recommend The White Cliffs hotel, the rooms are cozy and spotless clean, and they welcome dogs, which is a bonus for us because we dont like putting our fur babys in kennels, so they get to enjoy a holiday as well.

This sadly is the dirtiest hotel that I have stayed in.Filthy damp bedroom the shower was beyond comprehension paper hanging off the ceiling. What is this guy on or are my standards too high . This was a reduced rate after a previous complaint.Dont stay here unless your alternate is a park bench. Then think again. The breakfast is just awful, dirty tables and filthy surroundsNow I have stayed here many times over the years and its sadly gone down hill. I would rather sleep in the car....

Really lovely service. We showed up before first dinner service on a Sat evening and they managed to accommodate us. All the staff were friendly. The dining area is very tidy and relaxing. Food was great (we had fish and chips, and roasted vegetables). I would have loved a more traditional roasted veggies dish (carrot, pumpkin, onion, potato etc) but that's personal preference. Fish was delicious.Presentation was very tidy.If we weren't just passing through, I'd visit again!

Would have been 5 star BUT dreadful and very limited parking made worse by poor parking, one car had taken 3 spaces and remained throughout!!! and not asked how was our stay as we checked out? Maybe they knew we had a barking dog next door then a gentleman snoring all night and sounded like thunder... Shame as otherwise a very nice, cosy and VERY clean hotel, ideal for ferry crossings, cruise ship boarding the next day... 5 minute drive to town center

Great looking pub. Olde English feel and a great fire place. Nice ales and smiley staff. I had a Sunday roast. The beef was quite tough and the food was cold. The potatoes were slightly undercooked and the portion wasn't big enough for me. Also the Yorkshire pudding was hard as cardboard :( it's a shame because I really liked the pub. Just not the food.

What a fab find. Was going on an early morning ferry and used as a base to stay the night. Booked a room with washing spacious clean and had a comfortable bed. The bonus is the bar. Served good food well priced and all served by great staff. Also had a good selection of beer, wine cider and other drinks. Happy to go back again

Partner and I came here for his birthday weekend and loved it! We will be back with others. Great clean comfy rooms. Perfect service! Especially the blonde boy/guy/man sorry we didn't catch your name but you were very hospitable polite and literally worked every job in the building effortlessly! We'll be back. + great location and yummy food

Incredible food and incredibly friendly people. For such a nice place, we were hesitant to stop in with our young boys. But we had just walked from the cliffs beach (long story) and didn't have many options. We went inside and braced for the irritability that might come from bringing kids into a nice restaurant. We got none of it.Great kids meals that came out quick and gave the boys a head start (they need it) followed by amazing ice cream. My wife got chicken and I got steak, both of which we done fantastically along with great sides. The head waitress gave us directions and offered to help if we had trouble getting back to town. All this for one of 2 restaurants in the town. A real find. Can't recommend enough!

I have to say that after looking at the website I was expecting something different when I arrived at the cliffe. It looks amazing and is decorated beautifully with a lovely atmosphere but my reason for marking it low is the service and food. There were many staff working when we arrived but none of them seemed to know what they were doing or seemed to know what their role was. We had booked a table and waited a good ten minutes going back and forth from the restaurant and bar as we were sent to the busy bar to be seated. Once we sat down we had to choose from a very limited menu and order back at the bar, another ten minute wait. There seemed to be plenty of staff to do table service so this was very disappointing. By time the food arrived I had to order more drinks, another return to the bar and a further wait. The food was good but not as good as I was expecting and there was a focus on being quirky with sprays to apply vinegar for instance (hipster). For a romantic evening this was a massive disappointment as I spent most of my time away from my wife rather than enjoying a chat over dinner.I would go here for a quiet drink and the garden was lovely but I would not go there for a meal again.
