The Black Pig in Dover

This used to be a vibrant busy pub. Maybe I went on an off day as the food was very disappointing and it was like venturing onto the marie celeste! no staff visible and no other customers .

A wonderful pub full of charm. Regrettably with the exception of the starters the Sunday lunch main course was a big disappointment with the meat being only warm and a bit chewy. On past visits it has always been good to excellent I will not be returning.

Good food, large portions, very good service. Has a separate vegetarian/vegan menu with many selections!

We came with no expectations, but found the staff and the locals were extremely friendly! The homemade food was delicious (we particularly recommend the stew and the lasagne!).Dog friendly, real fire, real ales - a real pub!

Very cosy pub. Tables laid out with plenty of space for dining. Beautifully cooked meal. Friendly staff. No long waits. Would heartily recommend and will definitely go again

A nice atmosphere and friendly service from start to finish amidst low beamed ceilings and Christmas decorations. Excellent roast dinner cooked to perfection.

We just stopped by for a cold drink after walking round Canterbury on a hot day Very atmospheric timber pub with hops strung all around the beams giving off a lovely aroma.Very friendly barmaid welcoming chatty.The menu looked nice- too pub grub but the place is so popular so booking is advisable .If we had longer we'd have definitely gone back for a meal.

Loved our stay in The Black Pig, lovely people, comfortable rooms, if you needed anything you only had to ask, breakfast set you up for the day, then evening dining was superb. Quiet, rural, with a vineyard just up the road, which was supported by the pub, and the pub's own bespoke village shop
