Nice landlord John. Makes everyone welcome. We love going to see John and the locals. Friendly pub

·

Bit cold at night for some not many covers on beds. Overall pleasant.

Stayed the night at this BB, the landlord was brilliant to be around, quite pub, but good all the same

Really enjoyed our one night at this quirky, friendly pub, with a fascinating village church and surrounds, and great walking down to the coast at Kingsdown. The landlord went the extra mile to turn our takeaway into a banquet with plates, cutlery and linen, and a private dining room. Nice people in the bar too. What more could you want if you're just passing through.

Really friendly staff, very welcoming and the food is absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend if you fancy a quiet quality meal.

Great location, which is convenient to walk or drive into Deal and also head to the Cliffs of Dover. Friendly staff with good pub food and reasonably priced drinks. Many nearby walking paths and bridle ways. Location is on the main road so it is easy to find but may be loud if you are a light sleeper.

Amazingly friendly staff! Came as bike packers. They offered us left over food from the roast and the apartment to stay in for a bargain. Service was outstanding

We stayed in this hotel with my wife and my daughter before we took the ferry back to France. We we in what they called the apartment that is right on the main street. It is on the first floor and it is very noisy. You can hear people from the pub and the cars. The inside is very old and damaged. The 2 extra bed are owfull and broken.A really bad experience.

My friend, her two children and I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago. Both our rooms were in a lovely decorative order, very clean, comfortable and restful with nice ensuite bathrooms, TV, WIFI and tea/coffee making facilities. And to top it all off the customer service was absolutely first class. I highly recommend staying here.

This location has been better, we have slept and eaten here before, but it was not as bad then as it is now.About sleeping: The room was not cleaned properly and the shower had some mold. The room was unbelevably hot (even when it cooled down outside) and the hosts where not very helpfulAbout eating: The supposed cheap dinners they lure you in with are not there anymore, they might have ended weeks ago. On the normal menu are just really simple dishes for big prices. The burgers where just a plain burger on a bun with some cheese and some fries next to that for about 10 pounds. I've eaten way better for that price.
