The Plough Beefeater in Dover

My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times now , The 1st time you call is a bit of a weird experience, try it yourself and your see what I mean but after that it's probably the easiest phone call your ever make to a busy restaurant, i find it easier to book on line from there website ,anyway staff are very friendly and professional they know there stuff ,food was perfectly cooked to how we like it ( I'm a well over the top burnt food man ) the food was pretty amazing, the deserts where to die for, and the T'bone is amazing, not badly priced too , highly recommend a try

We stayed overnight at the Premier Inn next door and opted for the meal deal at the Plough for 2 courses plus breakfast. Great value for money only 2.99 extra for the fillet steak and and 2.00 extra fir a third course. Staff were 2nd to none in the evening, nothing was too much trouble so friendly and professional, not had service like this in a long time and last but not least couldn't fault the food so a massive thank you to Emma, Simon, Brian and Jared for a very pleasant evening. Sadly the fried eggs at breakfast were rubbery not atall pleasant but the rest of the food was fine and good service again. The staff here are definitely a credit to the company.

Not a good experience. Staff very capable. Food less than average. Some issues with cold vegetables served for Sunday lunch. Offer on filet steaks, 12 oz for 8oz price very welcome but quality poor. Tough. Tasteless. 😞 Disappointing.

All you can eat breakfast.We stopped off at 09.30 and after waiting 30 mins we had our breakfast order taken. It took another 20 mins to come.The waitresses were lovely and helpful and made sure before putting anything away from the breakfast tables that we had enough.Definitely worth the money but don't wait till the last hour to go ( we won't make that mistake again 😂.)Overall a great place to stop off and if you have a huge appetite a really deal. We will visit again.

Booked a table for my family for 6pm we required a high chair and was provided with one which had parts missing from the straps.Our food arrived presentation was good but food wasn’t very hot. We asked for sauces, the waitress never came back with them.Late that evening stared feeling slightly nauseous and the next day I had food poisoning! Needless to say we won’t be returning there again!

There is never anyone at the host point on entering the restaurant, you can guarantee that every time you visit you’ll need to just for staff to seat you.Food wasn’t great this time and not even busy so no excuse.This used to be the best Beefeater but it’s very quickly declining

Food is good. Lovely restaurant but service can sometimes be a little slow. Lunch menu is great value for money and a good selection.

We went rather early in the evening, approximately 5pm.The place was not busy, and as such you expect service to be better, as well as quicker.The menu is good, but extremely inflated in price. You're paying practically London prices for a basic meal.Portion sizes certainly don't match the price, particularly side dishes.Food was okay, although steaks were over cooked. Service was fair, although waiting for a refill on drinks seemed to take an age.Based on this experience, we won't be going again.

Had breakfast at the The Plough Beefeater, just outside of Dover. Massive improvement in service compared to my last visit in 2020, when service was incredibly slow and there was a poor attitude to customers from both managers and most staff.On my recent visit the food was served in a reasonable time and there is a marked, positive, difference in staff attitude. Would now recommend.

Excellent food and great service. We had a table of 14 people. The food came out all together and still hot. Staff were amazing.
