This pub is really nice! The food was really tasty and good. The beers cold and refreshing. Food and drinks were really cheap! I really recommend it!

I went here for a pint while waiting for the train back to London. There was a nice quiet atmosphere and the gentleman at the bar was very friendly. I could have sit there all day long!

Went back to visit family and friends. Brilliant welcome. Lovely regulars. Food excellent. Really well looked after by Eric, Tracey, Mandy and Andy. Look forward to returning.

Great location (right in front of train station) and very welcoming pub with outdoor tables. Pub is reasonably up kept but also classic. The pub staff was very friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices for beer and they even will hold your backpacks for a small fee. Would recommend.

Very kind and friendly people and very good food! I was back from a rather long journey from France and had missed my train home. I was going to be home by 10pm and I was hungry. The cook prepared me a lovely roast dinner whereas the kitchen had closed. The roast dinner was very good and portions quite big! Thank you again!

Came here after a train ride from London for a quick bite to eat. The people who work here are super friendly and served us quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is just what we needed after getting off the train.

I would not waist my time or money on food here. We walked into this little pub the end of August 2017, and told to pick a seat so we did. After 10 minutes my husband went to the bar to place out mid-day (lunch) order. Our plates came out 8 minutes apart so my husband started without me. When we paid hubby had to go to the bar to ask for our check. There bar tender wanted more money indicating there was not enough on the counter top. It almost felt as if he knew we were tourists and could get us to put out more. Hubby proved there was and we went on our way.

Ahhh, yeah. Right. Got off the high speed train at Dover Priory, centrifuged and at a loss for personal inertia. Walked over to this place, which looked like it would offer breakfast... only to find out it didn't. You look like a place that offers breakfast, but you don't. See the impression you give? You look warm and welcoming but then you don't offer nourishment. It gives one a strange feeling. You have the potential to be that great. Why are you so weird, guys?

I have been staying Monday to Friday morning for the past three weeks. The rooms I have stayed in are clean spacious and unlike many more expensive places the sheets and towels are cotton so you can dry yourself properly after a shower and sleep soundly consequently after. There is only ever one real ale, but it changes, and, exceptionally for real ale, it is always on peak form. The food menu is available during the day is basic cheap good working class food. The bar is friendly live music, darts and other clubs meeting place. The music is comforting to fall asleep to latter. I find the owner, bar staff and cleontel friendly it welcomes and encourages those. Before the present owner, a year ago, I am told it was not a good place. Paint and basic repairs, which can be seen on-going, look as if they have made a such a difference. The town so spoilt despite having the oldest boat in the world, and a wonderful castle on the cliff and a few Napoleonic forts on the other cliff, but with its dual carriageway between the sea front and the town needs it. So much history can be seen if you look at these old buildings like this hotel.
