Good quality food. We had a leisurely lunch and good service.

Roast Dinner was AWFUL. The lamb seems to have been microwaved or was boil-in-bag, formed into a cat-food shaped mound. Veg was also mushy and I presume microwaved. For some reason we had 'crackling' which resembled a long pork scratching from a supermarket. This was the best bit.We had to pay for our food before it arrived which should have rung alarm bells and nobody came to ask how our food was.The vegetable gravy tasted odd especially when mixed with the lamb gravy that was seeping out of the pre-packaged meat.The Aunt Bessie's frozen Yorkshire pudding was ok but still managed to be served soggy.The staff were all really nice and friendly. The food was just very bad.

Sunny outdoor areas front and back make for a good spot for an afternoon pint. The food menu was typical pub fayre (maybe due to the current situation) but tasty, as they source their meat from the local butcher in the village. Competitively priced too. Dog friendly (inside as well) and a nice touch was a bowling alley for the kids.

Very welcoming, explained they limited food ordering, but when we ordered the food was brought to our table within 25 minutes. So very acceptable.

The Rising Sun is a very nice bright yet cosy local pub minutes from the beach. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. Good quality with decent portions and sensible prices. There is a good selection of drinks, including draft ales. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area. Booking is recommended as it was nicely busy throughout the lunch service.
