Hen and Chicken in East Hampshire

Went for my school reunion on Saturday 14th May. Haven't been here since I was a kid. It's a lovely Inn. Patio area/ garden was great. Staff were lovely and helpful. Had a great day. Will definitely recommend here to family and friends. Thanks for making my day such a joy x

Passed by for Sunday lunch recently and was very impressed by the experience. The inside restaurant area was full of character and had a real countryside feel about it. The service was also very friendly and quick too so there was no excessive waiting around. The food was very good both of the menu and and the Carvery. It was however very busy so it’s definitely worth booking ahead in advance to guarantee a table and not to miss out on a great lunchtime experience. I will definitely return and recommend!

First visit today and very impressed with both the food and the service, excellent on both counts. Dog was welcomed and choice of food from carvery to specials quite extensive. The only shame is that we live too far from it to make it a regular place to visit, but will definitely be back.

Nice garden which is a sun trap. Good selection of drinks and great baguettes for lunch. Carvery food looked and smelt good and the place was quite full. Great traditional pub that's worth a visit.

There are many country walks around here, and The Hen And Chicken is a great place to aim for at the end /middle of your walk!We had an amazing carvery meal there after our walk.Good food, and welcoming staff, in comfortable surroundings.It it also on the main road, so it is a great place for your stop during a longer journey.Would definitely go back!

Perfectly cooked black pudding with poached egg to start, followed by carvery roast beef with all the trimmings.

We have been regular customers of this delightful little pub for many years. Today was the first time we have been back since the pandemic and as always the food was amazing ! We didn't book but we're able to get a table. We decided to go outside in The new barn area. The new look is great, a lot of work has been put into the barn pizzeria but it still has that one of a kind olde country pub feel to it that everyone loves . Staff are always happy, friendly ,welcoming and helpful.

Lovely and welcoming owners. Had the steak with peppercorn sauce and chunky chips. Highly recommended. Place is covid secured and felt really clean. Thank you for making me feel welcome as I generally dislike pubs.
