Amazing experience at the hotel. One of the most well equipped hotel gyms I have been to. The spa was clean and very relaxing. Swimming pool , hot tub, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and foot waterjet massage. The hotel restaurant serves high quality / high standard food. All you can eat breakfast buffet was tasty. The only down fall is the rooms have no air conditioning. If they provided a quiet fan then that would be acceptable. I would definitely recommend staying again.

I have no experience of the hotel but we went there the other day for afternoon tea. It was a mixed experience. The restaurant is very nice with some nice views to the golf course. Tea was okay, but not brilliant. Sandwich were nice but not enough for three people. Same goes for the scones, they were nice and plenty, but unfortunately not enough clotted cream and jam for three people. The rest of the cakes unfortunately were very average, I can probably buy better ones in my local Tesco. All in all an average experience thus the 3 stars. They could do much better with a little bit attention to detail like better cakes and quantity of everything to much the number of people on the table.

Golf was double booked so we ended up missing out on dinner that was part of package and having to go out and pay for food.Place itself is gorgeous, they had all incorrect information. There were 4 of us but only one booked in for dinner same happened at breakfast.Sports Bar great as was Oti's

Unfortunately our stay was very 50/50! When checking in the lady in the desk was amazing. She gave us 2 adjoining rooms and got housekeeping up almost instantly to open the door between the rooms. The pool was lovely and we really enjoyed spending time there. However when trying to book over the phone no one would answer the phone! We tried numerous times but to no avail. Eventually managed to book our slot using Facebook messenger. Food in the sports bar was amazing however ÂŁ30 for a bottle of wine when the same wine is actually cheaper to buy 3 large glasses than the bottle and it should be the other way round. Our beds were very comfortable however the pillows were awful and none of us had a good night's sleep! The room was also far too hot making it uncomfortable as well. When we informed the young lady on the reception desk she just said sorry and hope you stay with us again soon! Breakfast was buffet style and everything was cold and over cooked. It wasn't what we were expecting either as I would of liked to of had something different to a Premier Inn Hotel breakfast! Which this breakfast was no different to.

Exceeded expectations with second to none service from all staff. Great ambience in the champagne bar where we had the best cocktails we've had in years! We've recommended old Thorns to all our friends. The bed was huge and exactly to our comfort liking. Will be back

Lovely venue and room was perfectly adequate. Nice hot and powerful shower and had all the amenities needed for a short stay. Staff and customer service was absolutely 5*. Food in the main restaurant was lovely and had a great atmosphere. Used the gym once which is huge, clean and has pretty much every machine and equipment you could ever ask for. Nice size pool and huge jacuzzi. Only thing stopping it from being 5* was the jacuzzi wasn’t very powerful, only has big bubbles and shoot in the middle so you couldn’t sit and enjoy a massage with the shoots that you’d normally find around the edges of a jacuzzi. Apart from that all absolutely fantastic.

Over all nice hotel in the country sideThe reason why I need to rate it low it’s because they were not clear about the bar opening hours:We had dinner at the restaurant and we asked at what time the bar was closing and they answered “it’s depending of how many people there are seating “ leaving us you know without an exact time.So here we go that I just put my son to sleep I went to get a drink while ate the bar seating there’s still people drinking so I asked to have a drink and the bartender said “sorry bar it’s closed “ so I said that I wasn’t told at what time the bar closing so I beg them if they could do an exception just because I needed just a blade drink to relax my self, so I asked to talk with the manager of the bar and I have asked him very politely if he can give me a drink and his way to answer me telling that he cannot serve drink once the till it’s closed without any feelings about my self very upset that I just wanted one drink…. So I went to the reception and they have apologise about the fact they could have told me an exact time the bar was closing so I could have manage either a room serviceor my self going there in the right time, you know when you are in hotel in the middle of a country side all you want is a bit of understanding when it come to make you feeling comfortable and relaxed.Nice restaurant service by the way and very cordiality at the reception. The Bar manager not very good for a 4 stars hotel.

We stayed there one night with my wife and our 3 month baby on our way to Cornwall. Experience was difficult - (i) being a spa hotel, they don't have slippers and bathrobe in the room (you have to book a special deal to have them) and they won't provide one if you ask; (ii) to use the pool, you need to book two days in advance, otherwise, no pool or spa (on the website they don't mention this enough); (iii) we asked for a baby bad on the check in and I had to call few more time to eventually get it; (iv) although staff is very friendly, they just tell you what you want to hear and don't do your request from the first time you ask (you have to ask few more times); (v) at around 21:00, hot water stopped coming; (vi) not a single bottle of water in the room, and to buy one you have pay ÂŁ4 per bottle. Overall, I though it's a good place to stop by with my family for a relaxing spa experience and it end up a tough and stressful stay. I didn't like it and won't recommend anyone.

Just had a works Christmas party, great space to have it, felt like they crammed a few to many people into the room though. Food was great, alcohol prices seemed a little high though. The bedroom was decent though, plenty of space and a comfortable bed with decent pillows. Bathroom was nice as well.Breakfast in the morning was a big disappointment, chewy bacon and sausages, with no poor planning around the tea/coffee and toast area on a small corner making ques awakward right at the start of the buffet line as well.Overall was a good experience but felt like it should have been better.
