I don't normally post, but just enjoyed the best fish & chips for a long time. Really lovely crispy chips and well battered tasty cod.

Placed order and paid at till. Then asked to wait outside for a short time, when it was ready, the staff brought my order out. Excellent covid19 controls. More importantly, well prepared, good value food. Always had a good fast food experience here, will keep coming back!

Only chip shop in the area. In general food has usually been acceptable except for the chips which are always bad. Have eaten here a few times and would not order chips as they are always very greasy. (Never had anything like it from any other chip shop) I ordered a Saveloy which had exploded because it had been microwaved for too long, it was inedible . Fish was dry and chips were greasy and undercooked. This is the last time I eat anything from this chip shop. I would rather go hungry or eat a slice of bread with nothing on it. I do not know how a shop that sells fish and chips could get it so wrong. I do not know if they use cheap potatoes, incorrect/old oil or what the problem is but they are consistently bad and over the years have gotten worse. Would recommend driving 5/10 miles to another town to buy fish and chips otherwise you will be very disappointed. I have never had chips that make me feel sick but there's are so greasy they do.

New to the area so I though I would give this take away a try....I ordered cod and chips and was pleased to see them put in fresh cod fillets and chips to the fryer. Chips came out looking nice and I was asked if I wanted salt and vinegar. Did I get the nice new chips? No... What I got was cold, super greasy, already twice fried ruined potato. The fish was also cooked in a fryer not up to temperature resulting in a very greasy soggy offering. From the look of the chips the oil needed a change too. Here is a tip for the staff "if it looks like you wouldn't want to eat it, don't serve it"Here is a tip for locals "drive the extra in to Alton town and go to Oceans 11 instead"Money wasted, didn't eat it for fear of being up all night vomiting...Support a better business.

Just tried fish and chips , pea fritter and sausage 'n' batter with chips from here.Wish I had not bothered. Chips were greasy. Ordered a medium Cod and it was tiny!!! Pea fritter looked like it was something you would see on the floor after a night out! Avoid this place at all costs. Oceans 11 in Alton alot better!

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. Generous portions, golden crispy batter, perfect chips. Only fish and chips better than this is in Whitby, if you fancy the trip!

A really good place for fish and chips. The shop provides an area with two small tables where you can sit and dine. I sometimes do so. On this occasion I took the take-away option. The take away is served in a fold-out cardboard box, that’s better and easier to manage. Perfect chips every time; fresh cooking oil and good quality potato is used. The cod is always in a light batter . The portions are huge . I like the fact that they have a big fridge of soft drinks inside the shop and the soft drinks are ice-cold, I always order a can of Diet Coke or 7-up to wash down the meal. Very reasonably priced too. The staff are very friendly and once they know you, very generous on the chip portions for you . It’s a firm favourite and ( always busy). The food is always cooked to order and not left standing, so it’s hot when served.

Loved the place since I was a kid and staff always great. Chips are on point and very rarely don't cut the normal quality. It's a simple fish and chips but at least they know how to do them well and size portion is much appreciated ☺️ (try the hake)
