Excellent breakfast. I would only change the bread to a fresh sourdough. Everything else was absolutely fabulous. Great service as well. Will be coming back for a dinner as food is really promising. Not to mention the interior and the garden makes it the best looking gasto pub in the area. Well done!

We love having breakfast here. Dogs are welcome. Its clean and warm. Great friendly service. Food is fantastic and prices are really good. Lovely smoothies. Our dog enjoyed his bacon and sausage. Looking forward to trying their Sunday lunch. They cater well for gluten free also.

Best spot in Petersfield for beers in the pub garden. There is a huge range of drinks available.I’ve not come for food but only ever been told that it’s great. Will always come back here. Well done team.Top Tip: American Express accepted

We stayed overnight here last weekend & unfortunately came away dissatisfied with our visit. To start positively, the room was aesthetically lovely, bed was comfortable & the en-suite was very nice too. However, the negatives outweigh the positives from our stay here:- We arrived before check in as we were attending a wedding nearby. We were advised by a staff member the only place to leave our bags was stuffed in a corner of the bar area. We then had to ask how we’d be able to access the room if arriving later that night. We were shown our room but apparently bags couldn’t be put within it? If we hadn’t asked the staff member, we would’ve likely been locked out of the place as there’s no one present after the bar/cafe closes.- As seen in another review, there was overly loud banging from below our room from very early in the morning that woke us up & kept us awake. Whilst we appreciate the building is old & sound travels easily, it was quite obvious whoever was below in the kitchen wasn’t trying to be considerate of guests staying as doors were being slammed loudly constantly etc.- For a £160 in a room of a pub we expected some sort of decent breakfast. What was left out for us as a ‘continental breakfast’ was some croissants which tasted stale, we were brought over some toast & a lady behind the bar offered us a coffee. We could pay £10 extra for a Full English but were not shown any other breakfast menu which is served to people visiting the bar/cafe. We noticed others were having other dishes we might have paid for, we just weren’t offered any menu for it.- There was zero hospitality from the woman who appeared to be looking after guests at breakfast. We felt as though our presence immediately put her out & just sitting there felt like we were further inconveniencing her. She came across quite rude & abrupt in her contact with us.- When waiting to check out at the station we were directed to to try & check in we were again abruptly told not to try & check out there & go to whoever was behind the bar.Overall, I’d say this experience was sub-standard for the price paid & unwelcoming. It felt like what seemed like a nice cafe/bar/pub that didn’t wish to or didn’t know how to offer hospitality service to it’s overnight guests. It is a shame as it could be a really pleasant place to stay, we just didn’t get that.

We never write reviews but felt necessary to make potential customers aware of the terrible ownership here. We had issues with our food and when speaking to the owner she was incredibly rude. She took the food back and then refused to refund or engage in conversation. We left feeling very rattled and sad about this. We will never set foot in here again Others seem to have had similar experiences. So please be careful picking here.

Unfortunately we left this place on a very sour note. There was an error with the booking which was our fault. We had thought we booked for two nights but it appeared it was only one. We only realised when Maria called us to say they needed the room back and our stuff was still in there. I apologised and said we would return straight away before I could explain we were 10miles away Maria proceeded to raise her voice down the phone, demanding we went straight back.. Her attitude was awful and very rude. On route back we received another call asking us where we were and how long would be be. Maria continued to be rude however she did then ask me to understand her position. When we arrived I spoke to Maria who quite frankly tried to blame everything else apart from accepting her attitude was below the standard sure the old drum would expect.Given now the room rate was for one night I wouldn't say it justifies this level of payment but it is what it is.

Great pub and we had a lovely evening, however the very next day the owner was incredibly rude and abrupt to my wife when there was no need.I will NEVER set foot back in this establishment.

I visited the drum with my family for a Sunday lunch. After traveling several hours for a long awaited get together with them. We ordered 3 Sunday lunches for just under £50 for the 3 of us. We found the whole dinner inedible and we all left it and complained. The turkey was processed, the gravy was watery and tasteless, the Yorkshire pudding was like a doughy cake, no roast potatoes, just dry half roasted salad potatoes. The vegetables were pickled red cabbage and raw green cabbage. I have never complained about a meal before but this was terrible and none of us could eat more than a few mouthfuls. I politely asked if I could get a refund but was refused. We were not even offered another meal or complimentary drink which I think is disgusting. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone and I will be taking this matter further. Overall it spoilt a long awaited family get together for myself and my family.

A very convenient rendezvous with excellent beer and interesting food! My brother and I meet with two other brothers who we went to school with in the 60's to reminisce and also be a little silly with funny walks & teacher impersonations!

Had a superb chilled non alcoholic weissbier in the garden to cool down in the sunshine, served with some tasty sweet potato chips. Very enjoyable for a catch-up with someone and to relax.
