Food excellent. Had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive but to be expected on Easter Sunday. The walk afterwards was welcomed too. Easy access from the pub across to the Church grounds and into vast network of fields. A nice day π

Walking the South Downs we stopped for lunch at this picturesque old pub ... More of a restaurant really but had a small cozy bar amidst several large but pleasant dining rooms. Three ales on tap and the two sampled were excellently conditioned and served by friendly staff. A varied menu offered lots of choice and food was good. Service a little on the slow side but we weren't in a hurry. Friendly locals. Worth another visit

Slow service, and not great value for money. Ordered our drinks and they bought one wrong, so sent it back and waited for the replacement, that never arrived! Eventually went to the bar to get our own.

Just enjoyed a very nice meal at The Red Lion, the food was excellent, the staff were superb, and the prices very reasonable! The food quality certainly superior to the other local pub...and a lesson in customer service too. Highly recommended, and will certainly be back again.

Stopped here for Sunday dinner after an 8 mile walk along the South downs! Absolutely bloody amazing! I have no idea what they did to the oil and balsamic vinegar with the foccacia, but it was the best I've ever had. Then we had one beef roast and one chicken roast and everything was cooked to perfection, it was so yummy! The chocolate brownie to finish was devine! Literally everything I ate was gorgeous! Staff were friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and turned up without booking. We got a table and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the liver and will definitely be going back.

Beautiful meal, very personable staff mostly wearing masks. Did not feel rushed and plenty of room around diners. A bit too cold to sit outside but lit outside area looked attractive and clean/well kept.

Expensive standard pub food. Same menu as every fullers pub so nothing is acutally home made, not even the specials. Beautiful setting and really nice inside the old part of the pub. Worth a visit for a drink on a cold winter day.

Can't fault this place.... Sunday roast is to die for. Nothing is too much for the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. Dogs are welcomed with biscuits and a drink. Just a very nice relaxing country pub. Will go again and again and again....

We were camping with some friends in the South Downs area and booked this pub for lunch, we arrived wet and muddy from our 2 hour walk and Butser Ancient Farm tour but the staff were kind and accommodating. After our delicious lunch and drinks we asked if there was space for us in the bar area and they kindly moved us over and it was lovley, there was a warm fire and the staff catered to our every whim. After a while we moved out doors as the table was booked by other patrons, we ordered more food and drinks and it was all delicious and fresh. Safe to say we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would definitely recommend.
