Very clean, newly renovated pub offering fine ales, spirits and wines. There is also an attractive dining area and a popular menu...

A lovely local village pub! It’s now quiz night every Thursday and unfortunately that’s a unmissable event!

UPDATED, fancied a Sunday lunch. Have not been to The Royal Exchange in a long time. Red mist is over, no more hazy hog cider ☹️. Not all is lost they have orchards Cornish cider. The roast was really really good. The chicken was perfect and fell of the bone. The photo attached shows you how wonderful it was.

We Had the Mother’s Day menu in the evening. The battered king prawns were ok. The batter fell off them when I put my fork in them. The roast pork was not good at all. I had 2 slivers of pork which looked like tiny slices of bacon on my plate. The roast potatoes were hard, dry, microwaved and tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding was ok and I did not bother with the veg at this point. I complained and was brought some more slices of pork but the joint was poor quality. The crackling was 2 thin strips which tasted like they had come from a packet. The cheesecake was quite nice and I can not fault the service as it was good and attentive. We are local and have eaten here numerous times and have enjoyed the food. This meal really was not up to standard at all. If you are going to advertise Mother’s Day and take lots of bookings, then make sure your food is up to standard. We were offered a token 10% off our bill which I accepted but the meal still cost just over £100 and I came away feeling as though I had been scammed. Not a Mother’s Day meal to remember at all.

A first visit to this very well appointed and pleasant local pub and restaurant. We visited just after opening for their Saturday brunch and the menu offered good options, including vegetarian and children’s fare. The food we ordered was hot, tasty and well presented. The Mozzo coffee is also from a local Hampshire company, which I thought was a nice touch. We will return to try their main menu on another occasion.

Lovely, friendly staff and a nice venue for meeting with friends and family. I had the venison pie and it was delicious..maybe a bit more meat would suit some people, but for me it was just right with lots of gravy and tasty!

Amazing Friday night out made even better by the team at the Royal Exchange. Friendly welcome and quickly seated with a pint in hand, topped off with one of the best mixed grills I've had in years; perfectly cooked steak and ribs falling off the bone, couldn't ask for more.. literally didn't even have more room for dessert so will have to be back!
