Mister Hau's Oriental Express in Eastbourne

nice environment and fast service, and i would like to give more stars to it, but i am giving it 4 stars because the food, as it could be better, at least for me as I live in London and i have tested much better Chinese food ( i go regularly to Chinatown)- but i feel it is a general attitude in Eastbourne, that i have visited several times now, perhaps a tired town given the average age and perhaps the low demand in quality food that this might entail? i had the impression not everything was fresh, especially the fried rice , which i have ordered in different occasions and it definitely wasn't fresh, the dry rice and dry small pieces of eggs were of a very dark yellow colour, very dry and tasteless. I love east Asian cousine which is my favorite among all countries , so i can compare this to other chinese restaurants or take aways i have been to. I also had barbequed Pork which I always order in Chinese restaurants, once again, it didn't have much of flavour. Don't get me wrong, i would definitely go again, when i am not looking for anything special, but i am sorry they are not using their full potential to enhance the very colourful and tastefull type of food that China is so famous for . But i will come back again ...as Chinese food is my desire :)

Nice and exceptionally quick service, be aware that the online available menu is slightly different to the sit in one, couldnt find mee goreng in the restaurant but that wasn't really a problem as they have enough selection to choose from.All together good value and really quick service.For the people complaining about greasy noodles... What the hell do you expect, they are fried...

I was last in this restaurant/ takeaway years ago and it was pretty decent.Well, visiting Eastbourne I called in, the meal was Mr Haus Oriental omelette, prawns and fried rice and spring onions.Well, the rice was dry boiled rice and not a sign of spring onions? £7.30 and tasteless. Will leave alone next time I visit Eastbourne.

We ordered a delivery for four people and the food was AMAZING!Hot, really tasty, and generous portion sizes.A real asset to the resurant is a very helpful member of staff called Yurou, who made ordering a pleasure. My night was a special event for my family, and the food made the evening extra special. Thank you Mr. Hau's and compliments to the Chef's

The best Chinese in Eastbourne, delicious food and friendly staff

Nice experience. My friend and I we really did enjoyed our meals here in this rainy December day. Very nice staff. The food is really tasty. We've got chicken and chinese mushrooms soup, chicken noodles soup, fried egg rice with sweat and sour pork, fried egg rice with sweat and sour chicken, and extra chicken fried noodles ...absolutely yummy! Perfect dish, perfect taste. Dessert: toffee apple and toffee banana.

Always spot on ! very good chinese food we have been coming here for years it never lets us down . Would like softer lighting at night, candles on the table maybe . We had ribs and crispy seaweed, crispy duck and pancakes then finished off with egg fried rice soft shell crab and crispy chilli beef .

I love this place. Have been going there for years. I had crab soup 🍜 and sizzling beef with fry rice 🍚. Definitely advise any one to try . It is Cousy and friendly .
