We have ordered the meal deal fish, chips and a drink for ÂŁ10.00 which we thought what we paid and what we received it was a good price. The fries were freshly cooked and so the fish even it was on a small size. The reason for the 4 stars it was the wait which we have been waited for 35 minutes to collect our food from the time we have placed our order. If the shop is so busy and they know the weather it will be that good, then they should have had more staff on duty. If we see next time that they are understaffed then we will go somewhere else.

Utter shambles. From joining the cue to receiving my 1 portion of fish and chips it took 53 minutes! In that time my child wet himself and my partner nearly left me. Around 5 minutes after ordering cod and chips, I was told there's no cod. They were doing one order at a time rather than the easy (fish and chips, pie and chips) as they come. Completely ruined our trip to Eastbourne. Clowns.

Not certain what people complain about really. Have seen a few complaining about small portions etc BUT that's not the case. We ordered Fish & Chips and Scampi & Chips and the portions were large, the F&C larger that uusual. Prices were okay given the prime location at the Pier. I actually opted for the Curry Sauce and Chili chips and they were outstanding and the Scampi tasted fresh and were nicely spiced.Big recommendation from us for sure and we will go again today.

used the app to get the vegan fish and chips. quick and efficient. chips were smaller than I was used to. and also I didn't realise the vegan fish came with chips. Guess it all balanced out. definitely worth trying if you're a veggie or vegan, as much better than other places doing banana blossom fish. also they cook the vegan chips in different oil to usual. so proper vegan!

Amazing service, fast, friendly and professional. Portions are large and good value for money. Fish cooked perfectly and non greasy unlike some restaurants. Very clean, while ordering my food one of the staff were cleaning down as the foods being taken out. Staff clean and presentable and very helpful, great menu choices and happy to answer questions, been here a few times with the family and are definitely my favourite fish and chip shop in Eastbourne.

Vegan options available but the bbq jackfruit wasn’t great. The banana blossom “fish” was better though!

For the price, the portions are quite small, with a large portion costing £4.00 when a similar quantity elsewhere would be considered a small for less than half the price (never mind 50p per ketchup sachet). Additionally, the wait for two orders of chips was nearly 25 minutes. I don’t know what they’re doing to make these chips, but I don’t understand how it takes 25 minutes. Also, the staff only intermittently wore masks, and were observed touching their faces with gloved hands. I’d recommend a short walk elsewhere if you’re craving chips by the seaside.

Contrary to the reviews here I found it a great chippy. Chips are perfect. The fish is great. Liked the seasoning. Probably this is a new team. Keep up the good work 🏅🏅

I was lucky enough to find that place yesterday when everything else around was dead shut. And I can easily admit I found nothing cheap about this chippy (well except great value indeed!). Fish was super fresh and tasty, not oily at all and with some glorious aroma (coconut oil???). Chips were nice and crispy too and everything arrived sprinklered with aromatic parsley seasoning. All together one of the best fish&chips experience in my life, I kid you not! Even the box with a customised sticker on it was a nice change and added to the overall value. Keep it up good work boys, well done! Cant wait to pop in there with my friends next time I am in Eastbourne. Thanks!!!

What a treat! Vegan 'fish' and chips in Eastbourne! My wife and I loved the quality of the chips, all warm, fluffy and crispy. As for the vegan 'fish' this was the best we've tasted. I think it was battered banana blossom. The only slight issue was that the person taking the order was unsure about the BBQ jackfruit and forgot our vegan tartare sauce order. Annoyingly I didn't realise until I was back at the car. These was little things though and The Chippy is now the only place we will be going to for our 'fish' and chips, and we will certainly be returning again and again and again!Thank you The Chippy for embracing veganism.
